Hi, do you mind if I join in? I want to lose about 11lb. Doing a new routine of about 1hr workout 5 times a week. Using food focus to track my calories. Supposed to be a rest day today but only have 79cal left for dinner so I guess I'll get on the bike tonight so I can actually eat something!

How much exercise does everyone do? I hate the thought of devoting all my waking hours to it. Plus I have an office job so sitting down all day.

Done 30 mins on bike and 1st section of 30 day shred so I managed to have a bit of stir fry :j

    welcome goodgirl :)
I have used food focus before it's good site, however I think it can set your target cals a bit too low depending on your target.
be careful not to eat too little, especially with all that exercise you're doing, you dont want to go into starvation mode!!
Stir fry sounds nice and healthy tho.

We were naughty and got fish and chips today, but we are still in 'celebration' mode!! hehe

Aw Congratulations Betty!!!!!! Thats super news :D Your life is coming together betty you see!

I've been biking to work and back and already feel fitter!! We have a cute little countryside path that follows the river, especially designed for bikes. Its lovely in the morning cycling past fields, duckings and sheep! I'm so tired, and noticing i am needing to eat more to fuel my body up the hill at home time (the worst bit!) Still, its almost like fitness = even more fitness! I wanna run upstairs now where i didnt before.

Victory: My dad has a scooter, and my poor 64 year old mum has to lift it in and out of the boot. Or push my dad in the wheelchair so Its not easy for the carers. You can get the cars on the motability scheme, might be worth looking into that for the van.

    Hello Raph

Congratulations Betty and Mr Betty :beer:

:hello: Hello Victory, I've missed you.

Very jealous of your route to work Vix! My DD has lost about 2 stone eating junk - she looks great. I think age has a lot to do with it. (And I think she's sneaked the 2 stone off her and on to me)

Missy! I missed your pictures. :(

Hope you're feeling better again BB.

Thanks Betty, having used WLR before I know what my 'healthy' weight loss calories should be so I played with food focus until it tallied with that. First time I entered my details it told me about 700-odd cals per day! It's good to have somethin comforting now and again, I don't think it hutrs once in a while to get a takeaway :)

The best way to lose weight, I believe, is to make your breakfast the biggest meal of the day, followed by lunch which is reasonably smaller and a small dinner. I am quite slim, being a size 8. I often get asked how I stay slim when I eat fast food as part of my diet... I think the amount that you eat is very important! balanced diets are also important! Providing you exercise a few times a week (best way to do this is find something physical that burns calories that you do actually enjoy doing and do it on a regular basis... I recommend for girls yoga or pole dancing), and eat fruit or salad or a sandwich maybe if you fancy a snack you'll be fine... I think there are too many diets out there that are just confusing. It's so easy to stay slim and healthy once you get into a routine... It's just the hard work at the start! But it can be done! :)

A little while ago a friend of mine was a little on the chubby side, and she wanted to lose weight so I told her all this and she continues to stick to it and she also says that she feels her stomach has shrunk and that she doesn't need as much food to fill her up! which is great. She was beautiful before but shedding a few pounds definitely made her smile all the bigger!

there's been a couple of trials that have shown that its the daily amount you eat that matters and not so much when, i eat 50% of my intake during the evening because i simply can not sleep if i am hungry

some people who have lucked out in the old genetics department find it very hard to gain weight (about 25% of the population)

hope the counting goes with out a hitch Fred and that you have some nice healthy snacks to take with you :D

Overnight counting finished about 6.30 this morning will be back in a couple of hours - but this one will be quicker as part of the job was done last night :j

No time to eat snacks last night but lots of running about so hopefully got rid of some lbs :o

Walked 4.8 miles total Wednesday and Thursday - ankle holding up with shortish walks each day. I hope I can start increasing the distance and pace soon!
