i have a monster treadmill in the spare room, pretty much trashed my knees being 34 stone, they still creak like rusty railings as i walk upstairs
its has a very heavy duty sprung deck and i wear trainers with soles like marshmallow to lessen the load even more, you put 6 times your weight through your joints when you rung
my GP told me thou that running like this should strengthen the joints and i get only a slight ache in the joint now, i also use the lift at work on running days to spare the extra load on the joints
Its too big too raise the deck and has a 3.5CHP engine0 -
Just what i was thinking eric, what has happened to our thread?
We all have our bad days worldoftights but like everyone else says, it is just learning and getting to grips with everything.
20 mins to add on from yesterdays workout.
1lbs loss this week
sometimes you can be perfect and still gain weight, the body is a strange thing
i know i have lost weight over the last 3 weeks, i have gone down a belt size to 38" (37" at a push) but i have not lost any weight, i feel like i have a bit of a cold, inflammation can cause water retention
i dont worry about it, ill do my best today, thats all i can do
got a PB on the 5K this morning 28mins 11 secs, HR was 177 at the end thou :eek:0 -
Gosh. I've been having 0% greek yogurt for the past week and a bit, and today I had full fat - you can seriously taste the difference. The full fat tastes like double cream! It also made me really full before I'd even finished it.
Shame there is so many calories in it.
But then, I don't count calories :rotfl:0 -
Lose Weight 33
What's happend to your thread?
It was me.:o I am sorry but I made a mistake yesterday.:o I spotted a 'lose weight' thread on this board and merged it with your 'Lose Weight 33' thread to keep everything together.............so that we don't have duplicate losing weight threads.
Unfortunately, the 'lose weight' thread wasn't brand new and I didn't appreciate that it would take precedent over your 'Lose Weight 33' thread and (if you're keeping up with my rambling explanation) so your 'Lose Weight 33' thread was added to it............instead of the other way around.
I have made the 'lose weight' thread sticky but it might be a good time to start the 'Lose Weight 34' thread.
If someone is kind enough to create a new 'Lose Weight 34' thread, I'll make it sticky and close this one.
I know you all know.............but MSE doesn't have Mods.;) I'm a board guide for this board. If you feel that I should be reported........you should be aware that Martin knows that I really like being sent to the Sin Bin..............so it's unlikely to happen.:D
Sorry again folks, I'll try better in the future.
Kind regards

Awesome on the pb Eric. BTW in my opinion running on the treadmill is MUCH MUCH harder than running outdoors. A topic myself and husband will argue until the cows come home.
You are doing what I deem proper running at that pace. What a great achievement. When I was 16stone (after my uni days) it would take me 45 mins to run the 5k, I would get overtaken by power walkers!0 -
Decided not to be put off by my weight gain and did 2 hours cycling today, plus I was sports coaching for 4 hours so lots of running around like a maniac with the kids but I can't give a true time for how much I was moving so I will only count my 2 hours cycling!0

It will wear off once you get in the habit and your body gets used to it - but I also found that doing some stretches before and after, and also some heel raising exercises twice a day helped strengthen my legs and knee so reduced the problem.
I agree stretching before and after running helps with this pain, I expect it is just your legs getting used to using muscles that are not normally usually used. It will become easier.trigirl1979 wrote: »BTW in my opinion running on the treadmill is MUCH MUCH harder than running outdoors. A topic myself and husband will argue until the cows come home.

I'm glad you said this Trigirl as I feel running on the treadmill so much more hardwork I think it has something to do with the slight cadence outside and also the cool breeze that keeps you from overheating.
As I did my RFL 5km in 27 min would you class me as a runner too ??If so I would be chuffed to bits
Well done on all the big losses this week everyone :TRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

I saw a machine in Boots this evening. For 70p it'll measure weight, height, BMI and Bodyfat. What do you think? Would it be accurate? I'd love to know what my [STRIKE]belly[/STRIKE]body fat isSECRET TO WINNING PRIZES
