Can't really understand why anyone would eat pizza AND chips. I don't know a lot about Italian cuisine, but I don't think the Italians are a fat people on the whole. Pizza seems to be pretty healthy, in moderation, especially if it's stone-baked in the traditional way. But chips added? Chips are slivers of potato and they're fried!
You're pretty scared of being thin. Yes, it's what's in our deepest psyche that matters, isn't it? Were you using the fatness as a way of hiding something, or from something?
I had pizza and chips because that is what came in the meal deal. I will point out that I barely touched the chips and left a third of the pizza. It wasn't in any way healthy though, even ignoring the huge amount of carbs in the pizza, it was from the local take away and dripping in grease. Definitely not healthy, and not something I eat often.
I'm not sure. It will take time and a lot of soul searching I suppose.0 -

Oh no. I don't think the 'local takeaway' will have much of a clue about pizza as the Italians understand it.
Yesterday afternoon we stopped at the cafeteria in the Wat Tyler Countryside Park near us for a cuppa tea. I thought of buying a beef and tuna sandwich and eating only the filling.
There is a chippie near us which we've sometimes been to and asked for fish only, no chips. Unlike some, they don't bat an eyelid. Nowadays I wouldn't even eat the batter on the outside. Fish is good, it's what is done to it.
'Meal deals' - DH's cousin and his wife have told us they go for an OAP meal of fish and chips with bread and butter. I said 'What happens if you don't want the chips or the bread and butter?' They stared at me uncomprehendingly. 'Oh it's all part of the deal, you have to have it'. I would never go for any of those 'deals'.
We're planning to go to the local Toby today and I'll have 3 kinds of meat, then the veg - carrots, cabbage and broccoli. That will be enough for me.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

OMG Eric, I've just seen the price of that oil! You find some great food, but the prices are crazy!
I dread to think how much your shopping bill is _pale_:eek:_pale_
£25 for 6 months worth, not that expensive really
5 bottles of wine equivalent
a good olive oil will cost you more
it is more expensive eating healthy, but then you don't buy any snacks or takeaways which saves a fortune, swings and roundabouts0 -

providing the grease wasn't trans fats or chemically extracted vegetable oils it would have been the healthiest thing on the meal0 -

It's difficult to make good decisions sometimes. Or at least I find it to be. Especially at 9:45pm on a Friday night when you haven't stopped all day, and had only managed to cram half a sandwich into yourself at midday :rotfl:
But then it's all excuses, isn't it? I'm not going to say that it was a mistake, I knew what I was doing, but it definitely wasn't a 'good' decision to make. I also can't say that there won't be more bad decisions along the way.
But I can't live my life to extremes, not just now anyway. I'm going to make poor decisions sometimes, and I have accepted that. Fortunately I make some good decisions too, and that is reflected in my 50lb loss to date, and my 3lb loss this week.
I'm just kind of figuring this thing out as I go along
I'm glad that you can make more sensible decisions for yourself though - I hope I can too someday0 -
i discovered something that i did not know over the weekend, that in the UK high fructose corn syrup (which is as evil as trans fats) is called glucose-fructose syrup!
you need to avoid this stuff like the plague if you want to loose weight

having a binge once in a while wont hurt in fact it will probably help weight loss, the body gets into a rhythm if you eat consistently which can cause a plateau, best to try to avoid the carby stuff and go for fats if you can
remember do not look back, control what you do today
i had a weekend off0 -

margaretclare wrote: »What does Dukan say your 'real weight' is? Probably, according to what you say, it will be over 10 stone and maybe somewhere between 10 and 11.
I know that according to the BMI charts I should be 7 1/2 stone. I've never weighed that, not since adolescence anyway. I think if I ever got to that, which would be near-impossible anyway, I'd look like a concentration camp survivor.
I have just checked, and interestingly enough, my true weight is 11st 4! That is by far the most sensible weight I have ever been told, and is actually spot on as I probably do look my best between 11 and 11 1/2 stone. His 'personalised' way of working it out makes a huge difference, and really shows that a 'one size fits all' approach is not the way to go!Eric_Pisch wrote: ȣ25 for 6 months worth, not that expensive really

I guess it's not too expensive when you work it out 'per use', it's still a lot more than I spend on oil in 6 months though...
£1.50 ish on a can of Frylite Olive Oil spray!
I know it's probably carp and I don't gain any health benefits from using it, but it sure does cut those calories down!0
