Well, I can't help that, as long as I lose a few pounds!

Hey Everyone,
Feeling positive today as it's the start of the month, and start of the challenges.
I've worked out that for New Zealand it will mean 45 mins of exercise a day! I'm going to include house work in this as I'll struggle to complete it otherwise - obviously washing the pots doesn't count, but I'll add things that I'm quite active in doing. I'm also planning to put some music on and have a 'crazy dancing' session with the kids each day as it will keep them entertained, and burn a few cals at the same time!
I've just booked another holiday, only a little one - 5 days, but I am going to be a lot more sensible with my food choices this time! We are going half board, and they seem to have a lot of choice for meals so it shouldn't be too hard to make good food choices. Lunch time may be more difficult as we tend to grab things on the go rather than sit down for a meal, so it will probably be more junk than food. I've not really looked into it where we're going though so I may be pleasantly surprised by what they have to offer
.
Looking forward to weigh in this week as I've not weighed myself since I started last mon. I have been meaning to but just keep forgetting to do it first thing in the morning, and I don't think that it's worth doing at other times in the day.
Good luck for the challenges everyone! :j0 -

OMG Eric, I've just seen the price of that oil! You find some great food, but the prices are crazy!
I dread to think how much your shopping bill is _pale_:eek:_pale_0 -
It's a loss of 3lbs for me this week :j
I can't remember the last time I lost 3lbs in a week, certainly haven't managed it for a fair number of weeks.
I was trying to reduce my carbs this week, and while I didn't do it perfectly and still indulged in some very carb heavy meals (I'm looking at you Friday night take away pizza and chips) I definitely ate way less than I usually would.
So I will be trying that again this week. I can definitely do my lunch low carb, but at tea time I'm pretty much eating what my mum makes, and they tend to eat a lot of pasta and risotto etc.
I have also been running a teeny bit this week. Literally for about 2 minutes each night when I take my dad's dog for a walk (I'm staying at my dad's house this week to look after the animals while they're on holidays). I know that it isn't much, but I'm getting way further than I thought I would, and I think that I'm definitely going to try the couch to 5k soon. I even bought jogging bottoms!
So, I have now lost 50.4lbs since March, and I still have a very long way to go. I'm hoping after the next stone or so that people will actually start noticing that I've lost weight. My family and boyfriend say that they can see it, but no one at work etc has said anything. It's pretty depressing that you can be so fat that losing 50lbs doesn't make a difference
I also think that I am pretty scared of getting thin. I have always been fat, so I have no idea what I'll look like thin, or how people will react to me. It really is making me quite anxious. I'm also really worried that I'm going to give up before I get there.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!0 -
That is definitely something that health professionals should be accounting for when giving weight loss advice. According to the BMI charts my ideal weight is 9st 9, and that anywhere from 8st 9 to 11st 9 is 'normal'. The lowest I have ever weighed is just over 10 stone, and at that weight I looked ill (close friends/family members actually told me that!), so for 'the experts' to suggest a weight even lower than that is ridiculous. I think that the BMI charts can be helpful as a rough guide, but it shouldn't be sole source of advice.
What does Dukan say your 'real weight' is? Probably, according to what you say, it will be over 10 stone and maybe somewhere between 10 and 11.
I know that according to the BMI charts I should be 7 1/2 stone. I've never weighed that, not since adolescence anyway. I think if I ever got to that, which would be near-impossible anyway, I'd look like a concentration camp survivor.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Well done on your loss!
Can't really understand why anyone would eat pizza AND chips. I don't know a lot about Italian cuisine, but I don't think the Italians are a fat people on the whole. Pizza seems to be pretty healthy, in moderation, especially if it's stone-baked in the traditional way. But chips added? Chips are slivers of potato and they're fried!
You're pretty scared of being thin. Yes, it's what's in our deepest psyche that matters, isn't it? Were you using the fatness as a way of hiding something, or from something?Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
