I don't really know what you mean by "instant" porridge, but you can make any porridge in the microwave in a few minutes. The oat-so-simple packs are a perfect size and help you measure the milk, but once you get used to it you can save money and just buy a big sack of porridge oats.
The only possibe down-side is the fact that if you don't soak the oats overnight you really have to make porridge with milk rather than water, but skimmed works.
I used to be bad for skipping breakfast (so starving by lunchtime and ate way too much ) but I've recentl started having porridge and a glass of fruit juce every morning - has totally removed my urge to snack through the day :T
Oh, I did my first weigh-in on Sunday so am pretty happy with -1lb.
Edit: Re porridge, I like it thick so I tend to skimp on the milk and cook it for en extra minute (stir half way thourgh). I'm also Scottish so salt not sugarDo you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?
