Hey all i have done 1 hour 25 mins of exercise today. I do it mostly on the wii and walking. Quick question if anyone knows, i do the boxing every day on the wii(sometimes twice a day) and all of my arms are really starting to hurt. Do i stop and wait until they stop hurting before i carry on or do i just push past the pain and keep going? It must be my muscles starting to hurt i think.
Weigh in day tomorrow cant wait hope i get 3lbs.
difficult one
depends if its just soreness from previous lack of use as your muscles adjust to the exercise - ok to continue. Burning sensations which is lactic acid build up - ok to continue. But it could be a tear / strain in a muscle or ligament which is not ok to continue.
try resting for a couple of days if it passes its just your body acclimatising to the exercise
what ever your doing your should rest fully at least one day a week0 -

I would echo what Eric has said, it depends on the type of pain. If you train on injury you can escalate the problem and end up being out of action for longer, or even in need of surgery.
Personally I would give it a miss and try a different form of exercise, maybe a wii dance game or are there any kick boxing ones where you are just using your legs? Or try a day of pilates.
Even if your arms hurting is not injury and just fatigue I would try something else for a few days, give the muscle a chance to repair and rebuild stronger. Your body will end up benefitting in the long run.

Fred - 1.25 lb loss for me this week.
Not great as it is about 3 weeks since I weighed in, but better off than on I suppose.

(Sorry England team - no obvious reason).
P.S. Thanks for the additional comments slimbrunett and Eric Pisch regarding my past 3500 cal exercise.0 -
-2.5lbs for me thanks Fred
Got a Wii Fit board and Wii fit plus at the weekend "2nd hand" bargain at £52 considering it had not been used, shop said it was a freebie with a mobile phone that someone traded in without even opening the box
30 mins a day target to start with, so far I like the rhythm boxing and kung fu best although I have no rhythm but as long as I keep going I am sure it burns the same calories.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I dont think it is a tear or anything that bad, as it isnt really hurting now, but i am going have my rest day today so i dont over do it. I have just dance1 and 2, zumba and the biggest loser game and jillian michaels fitness ultimatum 2010 on the wii and just do whatever i feel like doing when i turn the wii on. Love dancing but glad i do it at home, cos i think i may look abit silly doing it anywhere else.

This morning, weight 72.4 kg. That's - 0.4 kg from this time last week.
After what I wrote about my weight yesterday, I am mystified as to how it works. I've actually lost 0.7 kg from yesterday, when my weight was up to 73.1 kg. I haven't been doing anything different apart from trying to drink a lot more water. If anything is making the difference, that must be what it is.

I've got a cold and at work when I really wish to be at home in bed (but I'll get more rest at work than at home cos my 2 year old won't let me rest at home. Makes sense?)
Anyway, exercise today Fred,
48 minutes - Insanity workout
Was with a difference as the normal workouts are 3 minutes intensity, 30 seconds rest etc but today's one was a total workout with no breaks in-between :eek:SECRET TO WINNING PRIZES:
