I would also be really interested in any recommendations. I have started using the kettle bells at the gym, but not really sure I am getting the most out of them. I have been searching and there seems to be so many DVDs to choose from.

I have been considering buying a 6 kg KB and DVD from this site http://www.fitness-superstore.co.uk/kettlebells_/10246_0c.html?gclid=CNiN7Jf6r6kCFQNP4Qod1iIHLA. I like the look of the Ironcore Kettlebell workout 3 as it says it is a 20 min as it says it only needs 1 KB. Not sure whether you really need to have worked through DVD's 1 and 2 first though. If anyone has used these DVDs I would be really interested.

From what I've read Jess you need to get the technique and form exactly correct with kettlebells as the potential for injury is very high if you do them incorrectly.

It might be worth starting at the beginning. I would have got Jillian Michaels Shred it with weights which uses kettle bells - but the reviews said she showed bad techniques that could cause injury. I'm going to get a different DVD to get the techniques correct then go on to other DVDs once I've got those correct.

Dawn French has lost anywhere between 3 and 5 stone in a year. She looks much better - but 5 stone is 70lbs, and 3 stone is 42lbs.

Both achievable in a year with a healthy eating, more exercise approach - ask Alliwant or Eric who both lost more than that last year. Not a gastric band or bypass in sight.

Faddy diets help no one long term except the people who peddle them.

I've just looked at the Dawn pics - she looks great. I've always liked her, and i think if she was really thin she'd actually be a bit of a stunner!

I went to the gym this morning - horar! I did a good work out but there were men all over the arm weights so i didn't bother waiting for them. Gave my legs a good seeing too though! And now i've had a carb free lunch :D

This week is a lot harder than the last - enegy levels have decreased for the exercise I did last week. I am wondering what method next to keep motivated?

I set long term targets (see my sig for a few of them) and keep an exercise log. If ever I feel like skipping a workout, like this morning when it was raining, I think about how I'd fall behind and have to do extra another week. That generally gets me out there no matter what!

Hi everyone, not much to report here. Weight is nice and stable, exercise routine is still going fine. I'm over three quarters of the way to my 1000 miles running in 12 months :D.

Eric congrats on the 5K PB! You've got me beat now!

    Keep going girls & guys!

Missy - I see your point about recording exercise and setting challenges. I do record my monthly/yearly exercise but I suppose what is lacking is a more achievable specific goal. Anyhow for now have switched to more indoor exercise and keeping myself happy to avoid ruining my progress.

Yes your right Fred, need to start at the beginning. That is always my problem I try to run before I can walk. :o Let me know which DVD you decide on and how you find it.

    I've bought this DVD:

    http://www.amazon.com/Gaiam-Kettlenetics-Slim-Tone-Kit/dp/B001EQW8W2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

I got it in Tesco this afternoon for about £15 - it comes with a kettlebell and has got excellent reviews - I'll try it tonight and let you know how I get on.
