Bertie i know it wasn't a long post but 'someone' (you know who you are) phoned me while i was typing and i got distracted :rotfl:
ME
Right - Champ!x were a no no so i'm taking tiny lozenges and so far so good:T I realy cannot tell you how pleased i am with myself
OK i no its only day 1 but i don't normally get passed half a day
Next problem ~ high blood pressure  it has been consistently high so in 2 weeks i am having to wear a blood pressure moniter for 24hrsand on top of that i am having a whole load of blood tests done
one of which is for high cholesterol ... i have had this before so at the mo (with the help of bert) i am working to bring this down before i go for the test
not only am i the black sheep of the family, it would appear that i also got all the bad genes
and whats really scaring me is my biological father dying at the age of 54, i think if i don't do something about my life style now i will be heading the same way  I figure the money i save on not smoking will have to go towards Fl0ra pro active milk, marg and yohurt and loads more fresh fruit
All for the greater good
CAR
i have finaly made a decision about he car ~ i am going to keep it for a while longer (mainly because the one i want is holding its price - Bah! typical ) Last week i took it to the garage so they could check out the rattles, bangs, squeaks and clunks.... after 15 MINS of head scratching they finally found the problems, link, bearings, exhaust blowing and handbrake  god bless my mechanic h quotd me jut shy of £200 which is pretty damn good so i told them to carck on with it1hr later the phone rang ....you guessed it MECHANIC ... the exhaust they had found was welded together from back to front and was going to need a whole new system costing another £100 to put right  while i could afford the other work another £100 i could not, they have left that, i will get i done at the beginning of June along with a service and MOT
MONEY
I dont quite know how but i have too much money in my bank :rotfl:i have checked and double checked and it is right ~ even after paying for the car and a trip to Ikea, which in my defence was desperately needed :rotfl:I am in shock and very giddy and also very pleased with myselfi also have a ' not quite' sealed pot for loose change and in a fortnight i have manged to put £14.65 worth of silver in it :j
Renewed TC this morning ...fingers crossed they don't go down!!!!
CHOOKS
PAH! We are still locked out  I have questoned pops about this, according to him we will get chook poop all over our shoes, we don't mind i said, he said ahhhh but you will walk it onto my lawn and kill the grass WT* So i simply said there is no point in having them then as i wanted them as pets, not just for the eggswhat did he do...SULK and NOT SPEAK TO ME  and i have to say 2 ays later he had the cheek to ask me for some money towards the food :rotfl:ERRRRRR NO!!!!! Not until we are allowed to look after them and interact with them....i have dug my heels in on this one even though it has and is upsetting me
So from now on my DPops will be known as Evil Eric (Eric is not his name) see below
MUM
or as she will now be known Evil Edna :rotfl:i took her to the family assembly at school, we were sat waiting for it to start what does she say at the top of her voice 'Oh look theres scruffy DGS' well i was flabberghasted!!!! How can she say something like that about her DGS!!!! And all because he has long hair  Thankfully no-one took any notice of herand its not the first time she has ben horrid about/to him, she is constantly telling me how i shoud be bringing him/them up and critisizing my parenting skills  well i have had enough  just becaue i don't want to bring my DCs up the same ay she brought me up doesn't mean i am wrong, my DCs are polite, well behaved happy children and that is the way i want them to stay, i dont want them to be scared of having an opinion or speaking their mind (unlike me who reverts back to a 14 year old when i'm at the evils house...yes even tho i am 44) so again with Berties help i hav plan of action next time she says anything horrd to or abot my DCs
I just need the confidence to say it
I would like to thank Bertie for all her help even though she has alot on her plate she is always there for meI would like to think when she needs me she knows i will always be there for her
Hope i haven't bored the pants off anyone who has taken the time to read :rotfl:
Night all

Hi, read a litle of your posts and thought I could offer some stop smoking motivation...
Been helping people stop smoking for over 5 years for the NHS...
First things first - cravings last an average of 3-5 minutes a very short amount of time unless you try to wait it out... then it will feel like a lifetime... try the 4Ds: Distraction, Delay, Deep Breathing, Drink Water
Distraction- ie. get on with anything!
Delay - similar to distraction- you'll have said this many times... "I'll just do this and then I'll have one" your brain will still accept this even though you have no intention of having one! Prob because you'll have got on with something and soon forgot about the craving.
Deep breathing - this is the IMPORTANT one, this is the one we've been conned about for years, cigs are stimulants, they DO NOT RELAX you, they make you more on edge, what you do when you have one is what makes you feel better (ie. take yourself away from the stressors, make yourself comfortable, usually have a cuppa/coffee, regulate your breathing when you puff). You probably already take a deep breath when you need to take the edge off something, but have never noticed it before (for me it's when I enter my sons extremly messy room or look at my desk), this is about using it to your own ends.
Drink water - another big one, alot of people overeat when they stop smoking because drinking and eating stimulates the same part of the brain as smoking - a glass of water would have done the same job without the cost or the calories! (also good for the "I have to do something moments")
Last but not least- a cigarette will not change anything, it will not make something better, easier etc. etc. if anything you will feel worse. If tempted think about how you would feel if you had one, how you had let yourself down etc. etc. etc.
You can do this!
Lozenge are great - just make sure you use enough, I've noticed people try to cut down too early- at the start you just want to stop!
Good luck!:D0 -
Morning
Its rainy and gloomy in yorkshiretypical for a bank holiday!!!
No i haven't deserted you! I've been lurkingLots of reading as yet again i could feel myself slipping
I simply cannot get to grips with the fact that i have money to spare and can save ... i think because i have spent so long without a penny to spare i am going out and spending what spare i have
Anyway i am back on track now
I phoned Tax Credits last week to renew my caim and the extra payment they put in my account has gone towards buying the DCs some desperately needed clothes and footwear!!!!
Still need to get mself some jeans or something i am walking around in size 16 clothes when i am a size 14 ...i look like a bag of rags
Appointments at Docs next week, blood tests and 24hr blood pressure moniter and smoking clinic!!!!
Thanks for the advice Chatter ...i do take on board any advice people post, it might not look like it but i doSo maybe when i have stopped in the past it is because i have stopped taking my NRT too early, advice duely noted thanks
I am down to 5ish a day now
I have found that the worse time is on a morning when i let the mutt out and i thik it is down to habit more than needing a cig so i need to work on this point, unfortunately i cant leave the dog in the garden on his own because he is an escapeeeeeeee
Picking DCs up from their dads today, they have been at his since Friday, so i have had a nice relaxing weekend :j Although i have missed them terribilyEven had a lie in this morning ....8.50 am :T Normally its 6am come rain shine or holidays :T
i am feeling fully rested and refreshed and very good about the world :j
Enjoy your day peeps x

Morning
Ok!!!! Is it possible to have a secondary LBM?
I had my first LBM wha seems like a lifetime ago....when i was with xOH and we went with a DMP.
Anywhooooo, this week i have had my secondary LBM after a conversation with a friend......
she kindly pointed out to me , yet again, that we have similar incomes and out-goings, and yet i have no savings and no money left at the end of the monthand she has savings and money left!!! I have to say i admire her greatly and hope it will rub off on me
So as it is the start of a new month...it is also the start of a new me
i am going to stop feeling sorry for myself...again  and crack on with life ..... as they say 'this is not a rehersal'
I WILL survive!!!!! My family, particularly, my brother and SIL, are waiting for me to fail, and will be rubbing their hands with glee shouting 'i told you so' well i am going to prove them wrong
