What happens at the "beginning of the day?0 -
It grates on me when someone says "pacific" instead of "specific". Or anyone who starts every sentence with "Basically...".
Or the old favourite "I get/hear what your saying, but..."
OR - and this my current worst irritation - "My bad."
My bad??? MY BAD?!?!?! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgh!!!:eek::eek:
Off for a little lie-down now...0 -

Yes, that's just reminded me:
People who start off a thread (that's where you usually see this) with: 'So' or 'OK,' or even: 'OK, so'.
They are just noise words that serve no purpose whatsoever in this context. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Here's some of my pet hates:
TV presenters that shout, usually kid's TV.
Chuna instead of tuna
Chube instead of tube
Chewsday instead of...well you get the idea.
also, hospitalised. Is that a real word?
Its a big ask (usually used by sports presenters)
DJ's who call themselves radio 'presenters'
Myself and my wife

My son has the "Lauren" syndrome....if I say something and he agrees with me I get "innit though"

Since starting to read this forum a bit more I find myself increasingly riled by use of the words 'scam' and 'con' for something that is simply a bad deal or annoying practice.
The other usual ones get me too...pacific (specific), brought (bought), using 's for plural rather than possessive (ie: the girl's went to the shop...exactly what belonging to the girl went to the shop????)Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
I hate it when people say "ah well it'll soon be christmas" in the early months of the year.
my ex's dad said it once on the evening of christmas day and I wanted to smack him!0 -

It's annoying when people make statements that are blatantly untrue when they're trying to be encouraging/positive/dismissive or whatever.
I was at the 7 mile marker of the London Marathon this year when a poor chap in a wheelchair was on his way past and having a really difficult time...some idiot in the crowd shouted 'well done, you're almost there!' - I found that downright rude when the poor guy had more than 19 miles left!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0
