    Hi loren and CCstar

    Nice to see you :j :j :j

Re the pheasant sounds like a google for the two fat lady's recipe book would help.

Have just hoovered the stairs hall and our bedroom - now the vacuum is back after its service I have no excuse lol!;)

Dds should be back soon - lets hope they do not turn their noses up at sausage and mash!

    Hello again

    Just a quick question really,
my next door neighbour has just popped round with some presents for us....
eggs, a curry (she's from the philippines & makes lovely curries) and . . .
    a pheasant.
On the positive side, she has plucked and cleaned it, but....
I have never had pheasant & don't know how to cook it...
    any ideas???

Sounds lovely. Pheasant can be dry, so I wrap it in streaky bacon with some butter, then into a casserole dish, with some veg and a slug of wine. In the oven for about 1 hour at gas 4.

    Hi everyone,
What a long thread today! Havent posted for a few days, am also moving, next wednesday, nearly all packed allready, so stressed its a nightmare this moving malarky.
BR must be in by now, lucky thing! My freezer is nearly empty for the first time in years! Will have fun filling it back up again!
Cant wait for the exciting bit of the unpacking and making it all homely again!
Roll on wednesday, I hate living like this, not very MSing but next move (if I ever do it again) may consider paying to have the house packed up, and not have to bother with the packing for weeks, like I have been.
    Big hugglies to all xxxxxxx

Welcome to Loren and Cstar :hello:

Chipps, I've only cooked pheasant once and it was lovely but because it can be a bit dry it needs a lot of basting. Pour lemon juice (about 3 tablespoons over the pheasant and then spread honey over the top. Cook in a hot oven (about 220 degrees) until the juices run clear. Allow it to rest before carving.

I've had a busy day. After tea we have to go out to buy MIL's seventieth birthday present. Dh and Ds2 are going over to London this weekend for her birthday. The original plan was that Dh and his sisters and brothers were all planning to club together and send MIL and FIL away for a break......but I got a phonecall this afternoon to say that they'd decided not to do that and were all buying individual presents. As Dh is leaving early on Saturday morning that doesn't give us much time to find something nice, especially as I haven't a clue what to buy for her!

Have a good evening everyone! :)

  • Hello everyone, I'm new too :hello: Well I have been reading this forum for a couple of weeks now, I'm hooked

Was planning to be OS today and have leftover curry from Friday but despite a day in the fridge it hasn't defrosted completely... nothing else in the house - no, really! Have a Tesco delivery coming tomorrow but in the meantime, no meat left, no veg, lots of pasta but nothing to have with it except tuna and I am at the tail-end of a cold, for some reason having a cold really makes tuna horrible  So I've cheated and got a takeaway. It has been a tough week though so I don't feel too guilty and I think OH is pleased with the lack of washing up.

Today I have done two loads of washing (usually don't find time in the week so this is a step up) and blitzed half the dining room.

I will do better tomorrow :o

Hope everyone is having a nice evening. OH and I are going to collapse on the sofa with leftover tiramisu (oh calories).

I will at least make a mental list of OS jobs for tomorrow :rotfl:

I've had a duvet day today, so have done nothing, let alone nothing OS. Currently getting drunk with OH whilst eating Indian takeout (its our anniversary apparently). I have applied for a few more jobs though, and I have an 'assessment' for a data entry position tomorrow morning. We were supposed to be going to Totnes for the day, but I think I'd rather send off a few more applications before the weekend.

Haven't read the thread yet, will do so later probably. And I've just spilt OH's glass of red wine all over the carpet BUT I'm pleased to inform you that the trick of dousing it with white does work.

Hope you all had a good day!
