Ryan Air - Admin Fee

Flights were with Ryan Air but booked through Travel Republic, we had no problems at all, and no extra charges. We just took hand luggage 10kg so avoided the extra luggage fee. We found Ryan Air fine, flights were on time.
So to summarise, booking through Travel Republic worked for us.
Yes, Travel Republic were good. But now they add the Ryanair surcharge on, therefore it is no cheaper to go via Travel Republic now.0 -
I have just booked Ryanair flights via Travel Republic. BEWARE. You will not realise that the additional Rynair admin fee has been deducted from your account until you receive the confirmation email from Travel Republic. The payment total does not include the admin fee and it is not clear that this will also be deducted from your account. I have spoken to customer services who said this is a common complaint and advised me to email their customer relations department. Apparently the staff are sick of having to deal with this complaint and the apparent attempt to mislead customers by their own company! I will post the reply from Travel Republic when I receive it. My advice is, if you have to book with Ryanair, do it directly. You will at least save the additional £1.00 commission fee that Travel Republic charge! Unfortunately there is no way you can avoid the admin fee unless you take out a Ryanair card.0

Just done a test and it warns you of the charge by the airline under the cost on the final page.
You must have missed it.
Also at the bottom it states "This charge is levied by the airline. Travel Republic will not charge a card processing fee on the flight portion of your booking"
By the way, this thread is quite old now and was started before ryanair began using the two word security check. I presume it was to prevent people using loopholes like this one.
It is still possible to avoid ryanair fees - by avoiding ryanair altogether. I paid 5% more with another airline for some recent flights out of principle.0 -
I have received a prompt response from Travel Republic acknowledging that their booking information is misleading as the Ryanair admin. fee is not included in the final amount to pay.
They have agreed, on this occasion to refund the fee amount!
I have politely suggested that their booking system is amended to clearly reflect the amount deducted, including the Ryanair admin fee.
My post was intended to warn customers that the amount requested under 'total' is not actually the total amount you will pay. My point was that, although I did see the note regarding the admin fee, it was not clear that this would be added to the total. My conversation with Customer Services confirmed that I was one of many who were 'misled' in this way.0
