Which FairFX card do people use for buying Ryanair flights? It seems like the £ Anywhere card costs £9.95.

If you get it via this link, it's free, seemingly:

Ah thanks. Though the minimum load is £50, despite it saying on that page "Minimum load €10 / $20 required."

What is it about all these posts about the fair fx card?

People are missing the point as this thread is about booking with travel republic to avoid ryanair fees, which hasn't been mentioned anywhere on this site before.

OK, but there are more posts about FairFX card on this thread, I know there shouldn`t be but that`s how it goes because it`s an open forum.

The main concern seems to be whether using the TR site with no extra charges will be accepted by RA.
Some have cast doubt but as I posted earlier, I can`t see a problem.
TP send you your booking ref: number and you log on to RA and print your passes.

Why doubt is being cast about TP, I don`t know.
If people don`t want to risk TP then they have been given an alternative.
  • thanks for the tip!

Yes the minimal £50 is a new departure.

Also, be aware that the FX card has a 3year lifespan, so it's a good idea to make sure there's a nil value at the end of it. Though you can get a refund of unspent monies, they do make an admin charge to give you the refund.

    A good reminder Steve-xx

Will they automatically renew it or do you have to re apply?

When I look now at the terms and conditions I see it says it expires in two years. Yet when I got mine I'm certain that it was three years.

Have a looke here at term 6. At the start it says that it will continue indefinitely. Yet the last paragraph states that it lasts for just two years.

Beware booking Ryanair flights on any other website other than ryanair.co.uk. I recall on here that Ryanair had cancelled lots of flights when they found out they had been booked on third party websites!

    See here http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travelnews/2524912/Ryanair-threatens-to-cancel-passenger-tickets.html

They threatened to cancel bookings, but I am not aware that they actually did.

I use the neteller virtual prepaid card, if anybody needs an alternative to FairFx?
    Gone ... or have I?

What admin fee are we talking about?
There's an online check-in fee and a credit card fee.
How do you checki-in online if you don't pay the fee?
If you don't check in online don't they charge you about £40 at the airport?
