I personally would measure the length on your daughter. If she is as tall as the model then i too am with the brigade it's too short....

I know it's the fashion these days to have something barely covering yoru pants but i can't count the amount of times i've seen teenagers with pants/g strings on display beacuse of too short dresses and very low cut jeans...

It's a lovely colour and a nice dress but you do have to have a suitable figure to pull it off and having big boobs the dress will just hang off them, making it more of a smock top...

You do also have tobe careful with fabric like that, that if is windy on the day of the wedding a Marylin will happen ;)

From a male perspective, I think that dress looks quite nice. It has an understated elegance about it although I do believe that it is inappropriate for that particular model due to the length. A woman of more average height would likely not look like she would have to constantly pull the garment down herself.

That said, I see no reason why the dress itself could not be combined with something that covers up the legs too, should the person wearing it also be a relatively tall female.

Far too short in my opinion. If the girl is shorter than 5 ft 10 she would still have to be equally slim for the dress to hang longer. If she is wider up top it will hang short - and large boobs may make it hang short at the front and longer at the back.

At 16 year old, her GG's are probably where they are supposed to be and not around her ankles like some are suggesting ;)

I do smile at some of the 'its too short' comments. When I was in my teens my mother was always on that my skirts were too short. That is, until we were looking at some of her teenage photos and oh my goodness!!!!!:eek::eek: If you really want to see short, why not look at genuine vintage 1960s dresses? You'll be rushing to buy the ASOS dress for her:rotfl::rotfl:

I think it is a very nice dress. Better than having her nips about to pop out which is a very common site at weddings these days!!

At the end of the day it is ASOS and they do excellent returns so order it, see what it looks like on and then send back if you don't like it.

As a bride to be i'd be a bit miffed that all the men will be waiting for the girl to bend over and show all her lady assets.

As long as the groom isn't one of them, it shouldn't really matter to the bride :rotfl:

  • I love that dress!! Very elegant.

ASOS have a returns policy so I would let her buy it, try it on and see what she thinks then. You never know she might not like it!!

It doesn't really matter what you think IMO If she were your daughter than maybe you could venture an opinion, but she isn't

There are a few ways in which this might go...
    1. she tries dress and decides and she doesn't like it... result!
    2. she tries dress and decides to buy it. It looks better than you thought....result!
    3. she tries dress and decides to buy it. Your worries are confirmed and she looks like a tramp (in your eyes) It is hardly the end of the world!

For the record I think it looks nice. Might be too short, who knows? Until she tries it on and sees it on her as an individual it is impossible to do more than guess

If this is the worst problem that has to be faced, then I'm sure the wedding will be a great success
