OTT or what

Am not sure I am posing on the right thread as I don't see it is as moneysaving, but it is sure relationship saving!

Background, my DS is getting married this year obviously me and DH are invited and they have also invited my OHs DD, he works away and told me tonight to see this link http://www.asos.com/Asos/Asos-Bell-Sleeve-Shift-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1586145&SearchQuery=bell%20sleeve&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=-1&sort=3&clr=Taupe this is what my DSD wants to wear and I don't think it is suitable.....this turned into a row between me and OH where he even accused me of drinking! well 4 cups of tea later, I still think it is OTT for a wedding, I know she is only 16 but it is the Brides day, not the day for my DSD to show off her legs! that dress looks like it would just cover her knickers! also have to say DSD is about a 36ggg so spose it is better for her to cover her boobs and let the legs show.l

I know I sould like a biatch but don't mean to, want to balance the DSD idea of a wedding outfit with what is tasteful

Wow you are OTT for sure. That dress is very demure actually,a classic shape quite 1960's.I personally would not call it short, and the long sleeves mean its not to trashy.

Honestly, its a perfect wedding guest outfit, although I would wear it with tights & flats.Very age appropriate to.You must be a real prude!

I think it's a beautiful dress - simple and classic.

Ideal to draw the attention away from the bust area. You could ask her to make sure she wears tights, I honestly don't see the problem?

no way am I a prude! what I do in my day to day life has nothing as to how I think you should dress for a wedding, in fact I don't think that dress sense should even come under being prudish, its just to do with dressing up for an occasion.

DSD would wear it with it with 6 inch heels and bare legs, maybe my idea of wedding outfits are very old fashioned then. *insert shruggy shoulder smiley that was removed*

'Thanks' for the advice, I know if you post you take what you get!

    won't ask again :(

it does look very short on the model but she is 5'10. How tall is the girl? If she's more average height it'll probably be mid-thigh so not so bad. it does tell you the length of the dress if you want to figure it out.

I wouldn't be happy with a very short skirt at a wedding and I'm def no prude, but I think this will look better than you imagine depending on her height.

That does look very short, definitely would wear tights with it, wouldn't be proper for a wedding wearing just that and heels.
