I think its lovely for a wedding..It may show the legs but the top and arms are covered. This is the kind of thing most people would choose for a wedding!!I went to a wedding last july and had a shortish embellished french connection dress with matching bag and heels and ive got another summer wedding this year and will defo be going for something similar!!!0

i think it's a really nice outfit, very vintage and fitting for a wedding. i would wear it with tights but i think it's about right for her age.
don't really see an issue.Emergency fund saved, we did it!!

Personally I think it looks like a glorified t-shirt instead of a dress, I don't think your being OTT. What happens if she drops something - her knickers will be on show when she picks it up!0

How tall is your step-daughter? The dress is 33" long, which on me (5'5) would be well below my 'knicker-line'. I like the dress and have seen a lot of similar styles. I also consider it practical as it could be easily worn again.0

Is this more suitable?0

OP - I've looked at the link and that is supposed to be a dress?
On the model it looks like she's half dressed.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090 -
As mother of the groom, why is it your concern what the adult guests are wearing?
As a big busted girl myself I can tell you that it can be really hard to find nice dresses. What fits up top frowns your bottom half. If you are so concerned, take her to a specialist shop like bravissimo and spend £100 on a dress.
I think that dress from Asos is lovely. As another poster says it will be longer on most people. It would look amazing with black opaque tights and black heels.0 -
As I posted on another thread, as a scotsgirl at 16 I could have been away and married without asking permission. I don't think it's appropriate to be telling a young adult at 16 what to wear and I have no idea why you and your partner would be fighting over it.
Step daughter = dad's word is final, not yours.
It's a frock. It's not sequinned, it doesn't show acres of cleavage.
Calm down and stop meddling maybe?Debt free 4th April 2007.

'Thanks' for the advice, I know if you post you take what you get!
won't ask again
You just mean that you're upset that the majority of people haven't jumped in and agreed with you.
IMHO, you DO sound like a biatch and I can't see what it has got to do with you at all what the girl wears.

Yes it is short (on the model anyway) but in the crush of a wedding, sitting at ceremony, sitting at meal, I would be more relieved that her 36ggg isn't going to be on display. Anyway at 16 maybe 'tasteful' isn't at the front of her mind - if she finds out what you have said she might pick something else:eek:
Also she is your DSD so you will not be blamed fort how she looks so maybe better to back off and just concentrate on your DS.
I would be more concerned as to why your OH accused you of drinking.0
