    Aimed at who?

I am stating good advice and have given OP useful information on hardship payments and eligibility but if you contact JobcentrePlus with an attitude and talk about 'my entitlement' you are not going to get very far, they are human and expect to be treated with respect, therefore i was forewarning OP to let his friend know to go in with a level head.......

You DID give good advice :)
6 debts down - 1 to go: just over £1000 though, soon soon....

Staying happy and positive through 2011 (hopefully!) :j

I have a level head and I can't even come close to a whisper of the truth here ... so how does someone, like my friend expect to be treated with respect when he just wants some advice and fair treatment.

If the OP's friend is genuine, I hope he's safe tonight.

Bless you ... One night on a bench isn't going to harm him ... but thank you for relaying your kind thoughts:beer: .. I will let him know about this.

I'm sure you do (you weren't mentioned) but with the worst case scenario of friend sleeping rough tonight, i'm sure i wouldn't have a level head when going the JCP tomorrow asking for a hardship payment.

I see by your posts you are trying to do best by your friend to hopefully inform him tomorrow if he contacts you and it would be good advice if you told him to remain calm.
Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.

It's a pity more people in your friends situation don't make it the jobcentres problem before their driven into a position where they commit crime against the public.

There's enough hot air from the OP to at least keep his friend warm!!

My my .. I really have rattled your cage haven't I ?

    Insulting as well as condescending.

Perhaps a stay on a park bench would be beneficial to you .. it might introduce to life without a silver spoon.:hello:

    For everyone else:-

He did indeed sleep rough last night, but he has contacted the dwp again this morning and is now awaiting a call back.:)
  • How about you looking things up on a website and phoning him with some numbers. Just a thought!

    Yep been doing that.
