No don't read the Sun and my pension is more than you earn.;)

So you just hate all those that work for the NHS?

However, your pension is obviously goldplated and should be stopped straight away, after wll what right do you have to the pension that you paid for?

I am glad you think you know how much I earn, not that it has much relevance to CarGiant, how many cars have you bought there again?

You do realise that it is apparently due to the NHS keeping coffin dodgers like you fit and healty that there is a pension problem atall.

I will come with the last part of the manufacturers warranty, as does the one at CG, this can then be renewed with Jaguar.

Jag don't have Mike Brewer on their site and we've all seen the stuff he sells.

At least he doesn't have a conviction for selling clocked cars like some we could mention.

And at least he has some knowledge and experience relating to cars, unlike the university educated middle class journos that are currently intent on ruining WhatCar, a magazine that used to be helpful but is now only useful for checking the stats at the back.

Maybe it should be renamed, What (if you lease your car or have a company car, if not are well off and middle class and know next to nothing about cars) Car.

I would listen more to the folk that write in Car Mechanics Mag than I would What Car.

Perhaps WharCar should think a bit before employing people that are very talented at writing but have probably only ever owned two cars, one of which was given to them when they were eighteen to go to Uni, then the one they bought when they graduated.

Feel free to take their word for it, I stopped reading What Car years ago, it had become a shadow of it's formal self.

Lets not forget that about 6 or 7 years ago they came to the conclusion that Hyundais where unreliable, when they managed to go through a gearbox or two in an Accent.

I have mentioned it before but the only Car Supermarkets with a good reputation, based on years of individuals and companies buying cars and fleets of cars for high mileage work, are Fords Of Winsford, Motorpoint and CarGiant.

FoW and Motorpoint have more low mileage and under a year old cars, CarGiant has the cheaper ex fleet cars.

    .

Got to love Motorpoint, esp as they let me pay for my car with Tesco clubcard points :T

I did the thorough test drive of the model I wanted at the Toyota dealership, then had a quick test drive of my car at Motorpoint Derby, noticed a slight scratch on the paintwork which they promptly took away and sorted before I drove it away.
Staff v polite and whole process took about 90 mins. Was very impressed as I'd never used a car supermarket before. I would def use Motorpoint again.

    Ask yourself this:

Assuming both cars are ex-fleet from the same source, why would some go to Jag and some go to auction for dealers like this to pick up (CarGiant will be sourcing these cars from a remarketing company like BCA before they go to auction)

We're not talking about a Mondeo here - anyone who'd consciously choose to buy a Jaguar from there when they have the choice of approved used is asking for trouble IMHO.

Oh so anybody that exposes Car Giant for what they are must be ignored.

You really must be on an earner from them.

Over £2000 for a warranty, but on the car we are comparing the warranty would only last 30k, also if the vehicle was used for Private Hire then the warranty would be null and void.

Why are you so fixated on warranties, the one you get from a main dealer is just a mechanical breakdown cover, and is almost certainly bought in like the ones at 99% of used car dealers.

£2000 for a warranty? Are you mad.

For six of those months you are covered under the Sale of Goods Act.

Starting to look expensive to me, but you know yourself out, it is always better for thise that know nothing about cars to buy from a main dealer.

Just so as you know the wife didn't buy a warranty when we got her Clio, 16 months later still drives as new, yup wish we had paid an extra £2500 for one from a main dealer, that would have been much better.

Hold on, this is still MSE????

I'd expect better from Jaguar - the Skoda Approved Used warranty I was given on a used car I bought was very similar to a manufacturer's warranty, not the Auto Protect rubbish that Arthur Daley dealers punt you for stupid money.

Not £2000 difference, the Jag Dealer will discount, CG will not, the warranty is free at the Jag Dealer it is extra at CG.

Of course Jag Dealers will get the best of the bunch, CG will get the rag ends.
