Morning
Lovely sunny day here in North Wales. Happy Birthday Bitsy, we share the same birthday
I am 49 today and dreadfully depressed to think this is the last year of my 40's lol. Best make the most of it I guess before I hit the big 50
I have a few days off work before finding out on Thursday if I am redundant... no bad thing for me because luckily I can afford not to work.
Hope everyone has a lovely day xx0 -
Morning All :hello:,
Happy Birthday Bitsy darling - hope you have a fab day! xx
Hester - sorry to hear about SIL. Some family members could do with a swift kick up the behind eh?!
bargainbird - not sure whether this is an old wives tale, but if you add raw potato to your chilli, it's supposed to soak up the additional salt. Like I say, I've never tried it, but worth a go eh?
Flutterby - wish you better xx
We had an offer accepted on a flat that we love on Friday! So it looks like we might be in our own home before bubba comes after all. Mixed emotions because it's a weight off our shoulders, but must admit it'll take some adjusting not to be living with my Mum any more.Plus I know, her and my Dad are feeling the same too - very happy for us, but will be gutted to see us go. We'll only be quarter of an hour away but still
Had lots of cuddles with my week old nephew yesterday. Must admit I did come away a bit shell-shocked seeing as I will have one of my own in 10 weeks or so. Think it's the realisation that this little one is my responsibility (well mine and DH's) and mine (ours) alone. I'm confident but every now and then I have a bit of a panic
Did lots of OSing yesterday so having a bit of a break today!
Hugs xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,

Spendlesskaren - many happy returns, I hope you have a great day xx
Bitsy - eek I don't think I want the baby that early!!! And raw potato sliced thickly and put on the top when you reheat it should soak up some of the salt!
Lowesy - congrats on the house, finger's crossed for you - we moved a couple of weeks before I had ds, kept me busy whilst I was on mat leave and getting bored just waiting!

Morning All!
Happy Birthday to Bitsy and SpendlessKaren! Popular day for birthdays - I have two friends sharing your special day here as well!
Woke up really early, so scrubbed all the kitchen surfaces - and cleaned the windows! Towels are outside and I'm just about to put the 2nd load of washing out to join them. Beautifully sunny, but jolly cold here as well.
Halight - thanks for those satellite pics. I just can't imagine what those poor people in Japan are going through right now, and it sounds as if it's by no means over yet with more aftershocks to come. We are so lucky living in such a stable part of the world.
Managed to lose 2lbs last week without really trying - just stopped buying and eating sweets and snacking on bread and cheese all the time! Am so cross with myself as I've put on half a stone since the beginning of January.
Oh well, must get off here and do something else. Hope you all have a great day, even if it is Monday! Take care.Resolution:

Happy birthday bitsy and spendlesskaren
redruby - sorry your dd had such a rough time.
We are viewing four properties today. I have decided house hunting sucks - but it's the fault of the vendors, not the agents (who seem to get blamed for everything). Interior design shows have a lot to answer for "a contemporary modern look" simply means some muppet has gone at the stone cladding with a pot of red gloss. We have a "spiky twig" jar as well. Everytime we see a pot of spiky twigs, then we have to put a £5 in it. :rotfl: :rotfl: And I know how much a pot of magnolia paint costs - 'tis not 10K.
The estate agents have been wonderful so far - we've had gems like "well, you'd have to remove the extension. We don't know why they did it." and "well, to be honest with you - if you are thinking of offering anywhere near the asking price, make sure you ask for the white goods. All of them) :rotfl: Oh.. and "well, you might want to add a bathroom to this property"
Waiting to see if tesco are going to honour their price check on some stuff I bought yesterday. If they do then I will be very pleased
We had snake and pygmy pie for tea yesterday; OH picked up some kidney's for 10p in co-op and I managed to get some reduced beef in waitrose. I also made a small bakewell tart with some of the leftover pastry... and a small jam sponge with some of the leftover sponge from the bakewell tart... There is a lot of the steak mix left though so I will probably make suet pudding for tea tonight (well, if OH hasn't eaten it all for breakfest - as is highly likely)
In the quest of removal of random objects, I made aduki bean croquettes on saturday following a reciepe I found on a vegan food blog. They were, quite frankly, one of the single most disgusting things I have tasted in my life. I still have half a bag of the damn things left (I have a feeling OH bought them to get the clubcard points) and I am not sure what to do with them. The only thing that springs to mind is oriental sweets, but I don't like most of them either. I've come to the conclusion in my travels over the years that they taste of disappointment - as they are always so beautful and just don't live up to their looks once you bite into them.
Yesterdays random item use was half a packet of ground almonds which ended up in cake. Todays usage was a bit more of the ground flax seed and gogi berry mix that I had in a spinach smoothie for breakfast. I managed to get some of the dried mushrooms into the meat mix, but not many as they are ceps and lurids mainly, so they are really strong tasting.
I found an unopened bottle of Icelandic schnapps in the cupboard as well, it was like drinking oblivion so I'm not sure what to do with it.
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0
