I'm liking everything you have said CC and it makes perfect sense to me too xThanks to all posters and contributers :beer:0

I've been following this for some time but not said anything yet but the way I see it is....
A weekly comps: (go in regs)
The T&C's state: you can enter weekly to go in the final draw, enter each week to go into the weekly draw or come back next week to enter again and so on
Non-weekly comps: (on the main)
Comps run each week by the same companies but T&C do not state to enter again next week etc.
i.e: Itv, People newspaper, indie london etc.JUNE: Wine - DVD :j0 -

Have you got any examples of your weekly comp? Ive based all my rantings on what has been said and eventually decided (my inturpratation (sp) of the rules anyway, burt people seem to be agreeing).
I know lots of dailies that you can enter until the final draw, but not any weeklies - also the majority wanted all comps with an end date to go on the mains, so that type of comp would have an end date so i would suggest it would be bumped each week for people to re enter.
I really am going to try and butt out now0 -
Hi cc,
Re: "you can enter weekly to go in the final draw, enter each week to go into the weekly draw or come back next week to enter again and so on"
this was just examples of what the T&C's could state, but this is just my opinion on what I class as a weekly comp.JUNE: Wine - DVD :j0 -
perhaps one of you accusing me of nitpicking would be so kind as to explain the difference for me, because i am lost.
the classic fm daily comp, that diva sais yesterday was to be a new thread each day as it has a different answer and prize each day is to be posted differently from for example the cast off daily competition which also has different question, answer and prize each day?
weekly comps, the tv news weekly comp is posted differently than the (ok its now ended but for future ref) radio weekly comp that zenmaster listened to and updated for us each sunday? both had end dates each week, both required entry with a new answer before x date.
if someone could just spell out the difference for me, in simple terms because im obviously too thick to see it myself, then i wouldnt be nitpicking so much
i have said all along i want clear rules, and not this some of these types of comp are posted this way and others another way.
comping cat i do get what your saying about things being on main, i do however think its very unfair to expect gilla or myself to swap links each time to a new thread. which is what would be required if each weeks end date is used as the end date, unless the thread in question was going to be updated in game over, or pulled back out of game over each week and the end date changed. its pointless adding a link to either sticky if its posted as new on main each day/week. sorry i cant work out how to explain that any better, though bhg also tried earlier, maybe she was clearer than me.0 -
Deleted because I really am not going to get dragged into this.#JusticeForGrenfell0

The difference, two posters with different styles - i, and judging by the majority on here are concerned about WHERE they are posted and not HOW. They both have end dates, so the majority have asked for them to be on the main board. They will both end up being repeated on the board at the same time whether they are bumped or reposted, so why worry about the how.

I didnt enter the zenmaster comp, so i dont know how that one was posted, but i dont know what the problem is with the tv news one? Its a comp with an end date, new prize and question and should be posted on the main site. As with above, whether they are posted individually or in one thread they will either be posted or bumped at the same time.

Why would links need to be swapped? When a daily comp is posted, it would have an end date and so would stay on your daily list until then, it wouldnt need swapping? Weeklies, yes - my personal feeling was the weekly thread should go the way of the monthly one but obviously that wasnt a popular decision - but this is where yesterdays argument happened, and as i keep saying, whatever you or i think, the majority of people voted that all comps with an end date to go on the main board, and the comps you mentioned have end dates, and if you move some, you have to move all which defeats the point of the main board, there are more comps that are posted regularly than not ie Brit Film, Empire, certain ITV, Magazines, Indie London, Paper comps, Shortlist, T3 the list is endless. It is very obvious more people comp from the main board and do not want competitions going over to the regulars. My other suggestion about asking to have daily and weekly sub boards, so we didnt need the stickies, things could be posted as in the main board wasnt accepted either, so its a case of work with what people want. If Gilla doesnt want to keep swapping links, she doesnt have to, we either find someone who is or get rid of that sub board. It shouldnt affect your board as far as i can see, but again, if you dont want to you dont have to. I dont use the weekly board at all so i dont know how it runs, but your daily one is excellent, but if you feel like you dont want to do it then that is your choice, but like i said, i cant see how yours would change.
Im sorry if i havnt explained properly, but these are not my rules, just how ive read them and from all the feedback ive had, its what people are wanting. I really do not want to be involved anymore, im tierd, going cross eyed with all the monthly ones ive been looking at and i dont like all the bad feelings on the boards. I thought it was sorted, im hoping it is now sorted, but if its not then thats it from me - ive tried to inturpret and go with what the rules and compers are saying but if thats not enough then there is nothing more i can do or say.0 -
if a daily comp is posted as a new thread each day then adding it to the daily sticky would mean swapping the link each day. some people dont want threads bumped because they never see them that way. those of us who comp by end date miss all but the last comp or two in those posted with a final end date so some people want them posted as new each day.
im getting more and more confused though by end date. on the one hand people are saying it has an end date each day so should be posted new, on the other hand theyre saying it should be a bumped thread on main. but if the end date is today, it goes to game over...so how can it be bumped?
honestly i do not care if things are posted on main or on regs, i simply want things to be treated and posted with the saem rule instead of it being dependant on whomever posts it.....kinda of feels like its a case of if your name starts with a, b or c post this, way, if your name started with d, e or f post that way and if its any other letter then post this third way rather than being a this is how things should be posted that we can actually follow.
and again i will apologise for wanting clarification and guidelines to tell me how to do it. ive watched people be attacked for posting in the wrong way quite a lot. ive watched people be attacked for asking people to edit the titles to contain an end date. all ive been asking for for the past year is consistancy and clarification. people shouldnt be scared to post for fear of doing it wrong.....yet they are.
the only other thing i wanted to know is why we ever introduced a reg board at all... if it wasnt wanted where did it come from and why did things start getting moved?0 -
I had just typed a reply and lost it - im so tierd im off to bed, but i will reply in the morning if no one else has.0
