if those of you who comp by newly posted would be so kind as to add the linsk to new regulars even if you havent personally posted them instead of just thanking it and moving on that would help those posters who dont know about the sticky threads to learn to add too :AI think your suggestions are pretty much what I'd posted, rather than an "Or!"
It's what I was trying to say, anyhow
!
No, not intended as a dig in any shape or form
.
Intended as a "Hey, isn't it great how we're moving forward in a new spirit of co-operation
!"
Also intended as a call to encourage ALL compers to take some responsibility for our boards, as we do for merge requests.

ty granny, im sorry for being over sensitive today and taking things personally instead of giving the benefit of the doubt that i have misread or misunderstood and ignoring.0

thanks for the input everyone
nice as it sounds we won't be able to have a sub board for each different type of compbut when velvet updates the guidelines we can include a section for tags to be added to title eg FB, Twitter, Blog
in this poll 378 people voted, and over 50% voted for an option that involved keeping the regs board in some form
most comps regularly receive under 500 thanks although the most popular comp I can find has 911 thanks (a Take a Break thread), and looking at the names a lot of people only come on to mse comps to enter and click thanks, so I think the above poll was pretty fair
so what we need is an agreement on what should be posted on regs and what should be posted on main board
I hope no one minds but I'm going to read through this and other discussions again and try to put something together that could work for compers of both boards and BGs
I know some users want all on main board and others want a regs board with ongoing threads so will try to find a middle ground, then see if anyone has major problems with it
fantastic news, hopefully we'll all be able to go back to comping instead of commenting and this wonderful board will remain/return to the happy and caring place it always used to feel like.
Good luck Glad, I really appreciate all off your efforts. My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly

Exactly what they said! Thanks for all your hard work with this Glad0 -
Sorry for being late in joining this discussion but i have been cutting back on the amount of comps i enter and this is the first time i've seen this thread. After reading through this and coming across Mamzies post belowThat because its an Ongoing promotion which has committed to hold a weekly draw, but there is no overall end date, iyswim. A big fear with reposting Ongoing weekly/monthly every week/month on the Main board is that the less popular ones would be moved when expired and get lost in Game Over - but i could live with them on the main Board after One Eye had suggested the solution of list them as E: 99/99 . (I don't say daily because I think everyone is agreed reposting these every 24 hours would not work)
That could be another way to go - what do we all agree with so far... I think the ones that jump out at me are..
Postal/text/telephone Sticky stays where all of these comps are posted.
Puzzler/TAB threads stay where all of these comps are posted.
Reposting Daily Reg comps every day would not work
Daily Sticky thread linking to Daily Comps Stays
Title Tags work and help people comp???
I have to agree with all of the above.
My only suggestion would be to have a well defined list of title tags that you can easily search for without getting any other posts mixed up in the search.
Not sure how easy it would be to set up but personally i would find it extremely helpful0 -
These were the ones that I had seen suggested that I included at the bottom of post 3 on this thread in the possible guidelines, hthSome Title Tag Sugestions
We all want to be able to enter competitions easily and quickly, however we do need to co-operate and help each other to be able to do this. These are a selection of Title Tags that members have found useful in the past. You will not need to use every tag in every title, just which ever ones work best for your competition.
a) Please mention Kids, photos/purchase required, effort, email, newsletter sign up, etc in title if entry requires these. Occasionally a competition may have specific entry requirements ie 10-14 year olds, teens, 21+, etc, please ensure that these are mentioned if necessary.
b) Please mention FB, Twitter, Blog in the title, when a competition depends on these sites for entry.
c) Please remember to add Daily, Weekly or Monthly in the title when posting a competition with multiple prizes or entries. Please remember to update the relevant Regular Sticky Thread in the Regular Sub FormMy light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly

Whatever the outcome of how ongoing competitions will be posted I think a huge positive to come out of this is the clear indication that people like the "title tags" guideline.
Especially for multiple styles of competition ie: Twitter Daily / Blog EffortWishing you all good luck!

Personally, I don't think anything needs changing. But that's just me.
What I DO want is the date format to be fixed. Month should be first, then day. I would like to be able to sort the entries by closing date and you just can't do that with the date in the current format.0 -

i suspect what willy means is if the date was written as E: 01/31 etc then all fo those comps ending january would be displayed before any ending feb etc??
instead of as they are now where its all of the first of the month right through all 12 mths, then all 2nds through....(by the by, which is how i like it because then i can enter those comps that end on the same day in the next number of months that are already posted so there are some ive already done when it comes to that day again)0
