Hi
It's a nice idea but....'Tell us about the Olden Days' is an unfortunate choice of title. 'Tell us about when you were my age' would be better.
'The olden days' is unfortunate because it brings up ideas of 'ancient history'. They didn't exactly live in caves, did they, they weren't around at the Battle of Hastings etc!
If any younger person asked me to 'Tell about the Olden Days' they might get a slightly less-than-polite response. Just my thoughts, you understand!

Mine is more like a this is your life kind of book, starting with his baby pictures, toddler, teenage milestones, his first car pictures and so on.
Ive even managed to get photos of him working at tesco and cut out the tesco logo's.
I went to a craft shop and got some poetic sayings to put round the photos and many other bits to make it look pretty.
I did one like this for my dad's 60th. He though it was brilliant and sat down with his grand daughter (who's 4) telling her about who everyone was and stories about her dad (my brother) and me when we were little.
Even had a whole page on ice cream (dad loves it!!) so loads of old pics of us eating cornets and some little verses.
The following site has some lovely poetic bits which you can cut and paste into word then jazz em up to suit and also the OP should find lots of topics and suggestions here as well

Thank you for your ideas, they are all fantastic .. I am going to stick with the 'Tell Us About The Olden Days' title, though, as I think my four year old can get away with it!!That's Numberwang!0

Why don't you include a voice recording from them also? That way it will bring to life all the stories they have to tell and they will be able to replay those stories for many many years to come long after they are gone.
I have done something a bit similar for my son but more for his future children. He'll be 10 next week. We don't really have any family as my mum died 8 years ago, so every year I have a little interview with my son lasting about ten minutes and ask him his favourite programme, food etc and why he likes those things, and what his hopes and dreams are etc. I started when he was a baby so have 10 years worth of tapes now tapes of him sucking his dummy and then saying his first words. Its so amazing to listen to them to see the change in them.
I did one when he first started school and how I felt about it etc.and I intend to do some more and include my OH so my son and his children will have something to treasure long after we're gone.
I also have a tape from the old answer machines when they first came in several years ago and it has a message on it from my mum when she told me that she loved me.
I am a big softie as you can tell.:o0 -
my mother in law had a recording of her dad, and came across is one day and she said the years just melted away, I also heard one of my brother in law saying nursery rhymes, we take it for granted that we will hear these little voices forever.:A :j0

My mum just came across a bill for my gran and grandad's wedding reception - maybe you could see if there is anything similar that could be added to your book ( it's nice and personal and a real reminder of inflation at work! ) Also had a clipping from the local paper about the wedding - at that time there were no photos but lots of detail on the dresses etc, not just for the bride but the bridesmaids, bride's mum and going away outfit & flowers in the bouquet ( like sewing instructions! - along the lines of the bride's mother wore a crepe-de-chine bias cut dress in eau-de-nil ). I wonder if you could go to the local library to source this sort of thing if there are no cuttings as ours has the local paper going back decades on microfiche.0

OK, I've finished my HM memory books for my parents, MiL, hubby & myself. I can post a list of the questions I have used if anyone wants me too.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to word a covering note explaining them? My Son can't do it as he's only 1 so it'll have to come from me on his behalf, & my parents & MiL aren't going to get the gist of this straigt away as it's something completely different for them. All ideas appreciated!
Cheers;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
