The question is - did it arrive safely by the method you agreed?

If so, no problem. Would you rather pay £5 + £1 postage for something or £1 + £5 postage for the same item?

The packaging is totally up to the seller - after all, if it arrives damaged, it is he who has to replace it.

You seem to have a hang-up about jiffy bags - in reality, anything that relies on magnetic dataa should have been sent in an electrostatic bag to protect it from the PO's equipment and other people who send magnets in the post. In fact, to be really safe, you should have picked it up yourself.

As others have said - you paid, you got, what's the problem.

£5 + £1 postage I would go for and thats really a good idea, next time you order a CD from the Internet you should really go a collect it yourself. I got items send in bags but with bubble wrap around them, its safer and the buyer does not think the seller is a cheap. And the think about ebay is to sell the crap you dont want anymore to someone else, not to make a profit as he/she said. Yes profit is a by-product of ebay.
  • Personally, I only ever charge the exact cost of postage and packaging - the exact postage cost, plus the cost of the envelope/box/bag. If I use a second hand box or reuse a jiffy bag or something, I don't charge for that. I weigh the items I'm selling and work out the postage using the Royal Mail website. I just feel like it's not in the spirit of the site to overcharge people for postage. Yes, you take your time packing the stuff and taking it to the post office, but as far as I'm concerned, I make my money on the price of the things I sell, not by overcharging.
The thing is, you need to check the postage before you bid. If you're not sure how much it SHOULD cost, ask the seller what the weight of the item is, or how much they are charging for the packaging. These are questions I would be happy to answer if asked by a potential bidder. Some people rely on people to see a cheap selling price and not check the postage. Personally, that sort of thing offends me.
I'd leave negative feedback too if he won't refund you some of the postage charge.

For what it's worth everythingblogcast I agree with your right to complain or query as the case maybe. However you now need to respect the seller as he has done all he can in offering you a refund. If you're still not happy then you need to send the item back and let it be.

Don't listen to some of the un-neccessary comments made by some.
  • What for he is in the wrong NOT me. I hope your ISP blocks your from the Internet and once that happens you are blacklisted and will not get on the Internet again. He got my money so how is it a waste of time.

Is one of the rules of this site however you dont take that rule,

If you dont have any nice comments then dont post because it brings this site down.
Why would my ISP ban me from the internet- ive done nothing wrong
If i don't take the rules of the site, report me- but in all honesty, i really do
I have many nice comments, just ask around, im sure you'll find a few that like me, maybe my thanks count is a clue?

As has been said ad naseum the seller has offered you a full refund. You are still not happy with that. Obviously you are happy with the goods otherwise you would have accepted.

You didn't like the sellers packaging then you can comment on that in your feedback but he certainly does NOT deserve a negative.

It is time this thread was closed the argument is becoming painful and pointless.
  • If you were charged £7 postage and the item arrived in just wrapping paper rather then bubble wrap or a jiffy bag then you would be the one moaning.

Just Google why you could be blocked from the Internet I will give you a glue it is an act. And your ISP will end your service and then tell the others not to allow you on the Internet.

For the past day I was asking how I would put the feedback and all I got was this moaning about you knew the price of postage blah blah blah.
