    OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have just taken these out of the oven and they are fab. I used 4 weetabix and 2 eggs and hot choc powder instead of cocoa. I cooked them in a square tin and they took quite a bit longer than 15 mns (nearly 30 actually) but boy are they worth the wait!

How many brownies does it make please?

I cut my batch into 16 squares, you could cut them bigger but then you wouldnt get so many.

At least if you cut them that bit smaller you have the excuse that they werent that big so you had to go back for more. ;) and more :D

PLeased to see so many enjoying making these and eating them of course. It is great getting the kids to join in.

Ive just read my original instructions for these and i dont know if anyone is trying to tip their tray up and turn the brownies out like you would a sponge cake but thats not how to do it. What i do is line with greaseproof paper and then after sitting in the tin for about 5 minutes after cooking, get the lip of paper that sticks out so you can lift the whole lot out from the tin all in one, if you see what i mean. I then cut into squares and slide the knife under the brownies to release them from the paper. Then i place them on a wire rack to cool. How many make it through the cooling process is a different matter!!!

I want to make them in a traybake, do I double/treble up the recipe?

  • jenchin66 - I have tried to make them with half shredded wheat and half weetabix. They were OK but nowhere near as good as the original.

mookybargirl - my tin is 12 x 8 inches and for this size I up the recipe by one third - i.e. 6 weetabix etc.

    What am I doing wrong?

I've tried these 3 times now and no matter what I do they won't "stick" together. I just end up with a load of crumbs (delicious, but hard to eat)

My tin is the same as the one in the OP but I'm confused.

I had hoped to give them to DS in his packed lunch for his school trip next week. But I can't give the little soul this.

I made these this evening and they were FAB! Thanks so much for the recipe.

I made them in an oblong lasagne style dish and they made 12 brownies.

I used exactly what the recipe said except I used broken up ordinary white chocolate for the choc drops.
I baked them for 15 mins at 160 in a fan oven. I know what you mean Peem, they are a bit crumbly but not that bad

Sticherm the mixture looked very dry to me and I had to really suash it down quite hard into the dish, I was convinced it wouldnt work at all but it rose quite a bit and came out a really nice texture.
