i'm going to make these tomorrow to take to a bonfire party. need to buy some eggs but i have tons of oil and no marg so i will use oil instead....corn or sunflower or a mixture of both. does anyone know how much oil to use for 4oz marg? i might be being dumb but i'm not sure if its 4fluid oz or not!
also, got no choc except for some slightly out of date orange after dinner round chocs, they will give an interesting twist!!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
I made these yesterday in trepidation as the family hated the weetabix cake - but they were a huge success - only 2 pieces left this morning. I added a bit of oil as it was quite dry - think I will melt the choc and add an extra egg this time. I didn't cut them till thay were completely cold either.
Have been asked for another batch today“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

My DS (10) made these at the weekend and i took them into work yesterday, they polished them off and asked if I could make some more. I asked them what they thought that it was made of and no one guessed it was weetabix until i mentioned it  . They still liked them though.0

We tend to each have our cereal boxes at work & have breakfast at our desks cos we're that dedicated (can't be bothered to take a later train & squash in!). Someone bought bitesize Oatibix & was moaning about the tase, but couldn't find any takers to offload them on.
It was about to go in the bin when I started rambling on about OS & the joys of Weetabix Brownies:p. Have now been challenged to make some & bring it to the office on Monday:eek:
I'm not an intuitive pudding baker & having read the insturctions, don't know how to translate 4 Weetabixs for bitesize Oatibix. HELP
I can't mess this up or I'll never hear the end of it, especially from the ones that bake cakes for the office on a regular basis (and are really good at it):rotfl:
So apart from help with the amount of oatibix minis to add, I've read the threads & an extra egg seems like a good idea... Any other tips?
Come on OSer's save me from humiliation:o

ps - 180c = GM3 right
In a bowl put
4 crushed weetabix
4oz caster sugar
4oz self raising flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
pkt chocolate drops (i use a 25p 100g tescos own milk chocolate chopped up)
mix this altogether
then take 4oz of melted marg and stir this into the mixture along with an egg
mix well and put in a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes at electric 180.
I put this mix into a square tin which measures 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. I suppose you could use anything a similar size it would just turn out a bit more or less deeper. I also line the tray with greaseproof paper to save any sticking. Once out the oven let it stand for about 5 minutes then turn out the tray and cut into squares."This is a forum - not a support group. I make 180 to be Gas Mark 4 - how about anybody else
?
Sorry can't be any more help - I don't buy Weetabix/Oatibix so haven't made this one (tho I've stashed the recipe to try out some time  ).
Good luck and keep flying the OS flag in work:T .0 -
According to the weetabix website, two weetabix weigh 37.5 grams.
So I would try using 75 grams of oatibix.
Good luck!0
