o2 cancelling PUFL contract

Is there any other advantage to PUFL contracts other than the free 50 mins to landlines and o2 mobiles? I wonder if anyone else like me has an Orange PAYG sim card from years ago - probably 8 years that gives 5 free texts a day for free as long as you have credit. I keep that in a drawer and send a text every few months just to keep the sim alive as they make it inactive after 6 months and while I think they state they charge £5 for reactivation I doubt you'd get the free texts no more.0

I am having the same problem with O2 and they have refused to stick to my up front for life package, they wrote last year and said they were changing me to a line advance package and they would credit the 12 month line retail each year.
This year they say they cannot do this so they changed me to simplicity at £10 per month which I have refused.
I will be issuing proceedings against them for breach of contract tomorrow and compensation for line rental for the rest of my life based on uk stats for life expectancy.
Update:-
Paperwork issued and O2 legal dept. called me within 3 days or so of them receiving the paperwork form the Court, apparently it is all a mistake at their end and they can put be back on the Up Front For Life Package, they are writing to confirm the terms of contract again and are refunding my legal fees.
Lets see if they deliver what they have agreed, shame the courts have to become involved to get them to follow the agreements.1
