just hope theres option to use memorable data as don't want to use card reader all the time
it seems loads of banks moving over (e.g. lloyds tsb business users have card readers)0 -
Hopefully if they see that the majority of people are using memorable info and not card readers, they will leave the option in or maybe scrap card readers altogether.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

I always use the Memorable data instead :cool:0

Another one here who always uses the memorable data and I will also close my accounts if they force me to use a card reader.
I would love to know how much fraud they actually have that requires the use of 'added' security measures. I'll bet every penny I own that it is less than the cost of introducing the card readers/new website and all the associated costs (consultancy fees etc).0 -
I think one of the best moves in security was the change from asking for a whole password to asking for certain letters/numbers from it.
I was with T-mobile years ago, and it took me forever to get their call centres to get the head round the fact that I did not want to be saying what was CLEARLY a password (when said out of context) - especially in a public place.
Not a fan of card readers, even though I have never used them. Don't mind the txt service though. Not as green as I am cabbage looking0 -
Another one that uses the memorable data here. Haven't had to make any external payments yet so managed to avoid the card reader so far.
Its just too much hassle. I don't mind the text idea of a login code actually as pretty much always have my phone on but the card reader is usually somewhere random, and I can never remember my pin.0 -
I use the card reader but don't want texts to my mobile phone." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

Like some others above I only log on with the card reader if I have bills to pay.
Whilst the card reader may be inconvenient it amazes me how many people risk their online security by visiting dodgy sites/clicking on any old link etc. Using a card reader is good security and I wouldn't be surprised to see more banks using something similar (HSBC on the way) if they are forced to foot the bill for users not being security minded online.
You are always free to move banks to a less secure one if you don't like it0 -
Nothing worse than being at work, desperately needing to transfer money and not being able to because you don't have the card reader with you.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
