advice re rossendales and council tax

Hi first time posting as I'm not sure what to do any more,
On tuesday I received a warrant\liability order with 24 hours notice of payment, I already have a arrangement with rossendales of which I am paying weekly as I got a few accounts passed to them when I was on low hours\maternity allowance which I didn't know I had to pay full council tax.
As I had already an agreement with then I thought I'd be able to do the same , how ever I was very wrong, the bailiff came to my house at 7am and as the other was a polite chap I didn't think about not letting him , he told me I owed 445 plus costs how ever the debt was only 208 , I informed him I couldn't pay in one go but he wouldn't accept anything else I even had a friend there at the time to which he even asked him to give me the money , he said I had until friday or he would come take my goods , I'm 22 and a single mum to a 5yr old and 11 month old which were at the time , I just burst into tears and he left.
Since I have been to my local CAB that also rang him up to ask to put a hold on action but he just refused straight away . I received a phone call from he an hour later and he asked if I had got any money together to which I replied the only money I had was my rent which had to be paid last week, he said he would accept 200 out of it and the rest had to be paid by the 14th of march (which coincidentally is the day before my debt appointment that she told him about). The 200 was paid over the phone on card details to which I later found out hed took the whole 445 he was rung and said it would be sorted out on mon which I will find out tomorrow I don't think it was an accident.
I now have a week to come up with 250 which I don't have and 200 short of my rent I just don't know what to do, sorry for the long post I'm just worrying constantly about it

If the debt was £208, why did it cost you £445?
Did they provide a breakdown of the costs?
When he came into your house, did you sign anything (a walking posession order)?
I'm not sure how this works for council tax, but you definately need more advice on your rights.
I would contact the bank and ask them to cancel the transaction - it was not authorised. If the bank refuse, tell them you will need the reason put in writing and to pass you through to their fraud department.
I would try to PM Herbie21 for advice as she knows alot about bailiffs - she is aslo connected to this site: http://www.bailiffadviceonline.co.uk/ who may be able to assist.
I would try reading through other threads that mention council tax and bailiffs. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Thank you for your reply , the bank was contacted and they are only letting 200 go through but its still not been sorted, the bailiff was also contacted straight away and tried to get out of it untill my mum spoke to him then he all of a sudden remebered it was supposed to be 200, that is the first time I've seen him , I have not signed any forms at all off him, I asked him what the costs where and he said the court costs and levy to which I told him that I hadn't signed anything and he just told me I didn't need to0

did the bailiff leave a notice of seizure of goods and inventory listing goods levied (if yes what goods did he list) for this debt and any previous debts
do you know how many liability orders the council have passed over to the bailiff for collection
do you know the amount of each liability order
do you know the date of each liability order
do you know the date they were passed of to the bailiff firm
what position are you in now regarding employmentI am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

I would also recommend posting on the legal beagles forum - they should be able to assist with what your rights are in relation to getting back any extra charges he has made that he should not have. It may be that he added charges for 1st visit, 2nd visit and cost of a van for removals all at the same time.

Thankyou, yes on those accounts a levy was done although they listed the same items on both levy , to which the goods wouldn't even have met the amount, this account is a different address to the other two and a different bailiff I am dealing with at the moment , haven't seen the other one since I have been paying weekly as I do want to pay them off but he refused as soon as he came in.
