I find with things like that online is not always best, with consoles you normally get better deals in shops though play did look good but they are all sold out. Any suggestions?

I bought my DS in game and I have their reward card. I think they may be best though the annoying thing is you never know until nearer the time what they are offering. I managed to have the day off for the DS launch. I just want to make sure I get at least one of all the remotes (nunchuck etc) with the package so I don't have to buy anything else. Some of the games you get free remotes so I'll be looking into that for extras so I can have two players. It will be great over Christmas with all the family up. I remember the year I got the eye toy, that was one funny Christmas day working off Christmas dinner punching the air trying to box something on the TV.

Oh my word. I've got a terramundi which I've been filling with £2 coins - I've also put in the odd £1 coin and 50p but the vast majority is £2 coins.
I thought it would carry about £400 - it's so full I can't get any more in but I wanted to fill a few more up as I'm saving up for a major purchase which should cost me in the region of £5k
I've deliberately not broken it yet as I have little willpower and would start dipping into it if it was easily available.
I'll work on the basis that I've under-estimated the number of non £2 coins in there and so it contains around £500. Anything more is a bonus.
I also have one of those very large tins which can only be opened with a can opener. It's not as pretty but can contain far more money. I know it could be earning interest in a bank but given the current interest rates, the amount would be negligable, and I'd be tempted to dip into it if it were in a bank.0 -
Ds and i cracked his and he had £240 in £2 coins! But i have to admit to lying upside down on the bed and getting them out with a knife!!!!0

Ooh, great to read through this thread. One of my friends bought me a terramundi pot years ago and I put coins into it in fits and starts, mainly in a misguided attempt to soothe my guilty conscience at my reckless money-spending ways.
The pot has been sitting up at my mum's place since last year, when I moved into my new flat and didn't bother to bring it with me. I haven't looked at it as anything but a decorative pot in ages! I doubt it'll have a fortune in it, but hopefully £50 or so. I'm now in the mind set of every little helps, so can't wait to crack it when I go see her next!
Thanks for reminding me about it! :TDebt-free & saving for the next big adventure

I was going to ask about this. Never heard of them until I this thread today, but I had a piggy bank with no stopper as a child and just kept removing the money with a knife in the slot.

I made my own terramundi about a year or so ago. I got the idea from this website - might have been on the old style board but I can't remember. Anyway - I got a ballon, blew it up aInd then had great fun getting messy with paper machie and I covered the balloon with it. When it was dry I pricked the balloon and cut a slot in the top. I then cut up an egg box and made feet and a nose and painted the whole thing pink and put a face on it - its a pig and I have called him Olympic - because I am going to crack him open on the living room floor while I watch the opening ceremony of the olympics. Whatever is inside is going for a weekend or day out (depending on how much is in it) for DS, DH and myself.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Hi all, I love the idea of terramundi. I treated myself to a pot, and my niece. She was only 1. Her mum thought it was great. Am saving two pound coins in mine. Yes they can b hard to get, but just keep asking. I have bin told I could have nearly £1000 when full. Nearly there.
Pls note the pots are only good if you can save and are not gonna b tempted or too poor, that it ,makes you smash the pot quickly! Happy saving. Babs.0 -
Hi all
I had a Terramundi a couple of years ago, kept dipping into it with the old knife trick, however the last few months I've been following it properly and I am about 2/3 full.. Can't waittill it's full and I can crack it open - great way to save! However I am a bit OCD so I'm following the rules carefully and only saving silvers in it, and I'll only crack it when it's full! and have to use part of the money to buy a new one!
Good luck to everyone else with one!
