Cracked my Terramundi

I keep emptying mine (but putting it in my savings account so not spending it which is good) but it annoys me that I can't fill it up, and the slot is all chipped where I use a knife to get the coins out.
The MIL had a terrimundi pot for her birthday and I always stay over her house on weekends, and she won't accept money for takeaways or anything so I'm always putting notes in hers. She hasn't caught on yet so when she empties it she will have a nice surprise0 -

aaw thats lovely! me and one of my friends go for meals and take it in turns to pay. last time she wouldnt let me pay but I could tell it was going to make her quite skint so on the way back I dropped a tenner behind the seat in her car so when she cleaned it out she'd get a nice surprise! shes never mentioned finding a tenner in there though, hope her bf didnt find it first!0 -

I've got one of these, had it for years and it's nearing the top ... started off just putting £2 coins in there, but then I realised £1 is fine too, a £1 coin is exactly half the mass of a £2 coin so it doesn't really matter ... anyway it's so close to the top now. I might crack it on Jan 1st, macbook air or a trip to the states? hmmm0

wait is that true? i'm sure i heard that somewhere ... anyway it should still be a lot of £!0

I just cracked my terramundi this evening. The intention was to fill it only with £1 coins - I have another for £2 coins but it's only half full so far.
Anyway, it contained £589 in £1 coins, £12 in £2 coins, and a 1p piece - clearly I wasn't concentrating when I put them in.0 -
Just to let everyone know,I bought myself a terramundi on Thursday and then went to b&m stores the day after and found they do there own version for only £2.99, no where near as nice as the real deal but a lot more cash friendly!0

I've got a pot pig called Penelope to whom I feed all my pocket change each night. It soon adds up! That way, each new day I start with just notes in my wallet which I'm less likely to spend as I hate breaking into a note.
I empty it on the last day of every month and throw the money at my credit cards. Once they're down to £0, I'll switch to throwing it at the mortgage.Mortgage at end 05/2007: £90200

I already save small change in various pots and have decided to save 20p's and above in a Terramundi.
If I have change in my pocket, then I will spend it on snacks etc, so a good way to save for me.
I might put the occasional note in to boost the amount and intend to keep it going for a year.0
