    Fold the sock in half, iron all of it except the top 1cm. Then roll it with the un ironed section to the top this should make the top still look fluffy

    Really quick post as I've been trying, (and failing lol), to catch up :) Saw that there'd been some great baskets posted up, so a big thanks for posting them x There's some real stunners!

    Quick post as said as I'm still trying to eat my tea (that's the one us northerners usually have at 6pm ish ;)) but wanted to let you know that a Superdrug I went in earlier were selling Shower Flowers for 6p. Marked as that one shelf edge too and had them in pink and blue. They might not be something we'd usually buy, but for 6p they'd fill a lovely gap in a hamper imo :)

    Can't get any pics posted as OH is asleep now, but I'll try tomorrow - mainly because I think with a bit of the imagination you all show, most of you could make these. (Maybe not for 6p though. But then again .... :D lol).

    Got it spend it - lovely hampers. Thoughtful yet great value for money. I love the black and white mug.

    Mrs T I haven't managed a successful cupcake yet either. A sock I did in a mug and used wired ribbon round looks okay tho - nice and fluffy seems to be the key - it still looks like a sock tho so I haven't mastered the standards of lush and rainmac yet on this. If I ever do I'll post a piccie lol

    Not strictly speaking a basket, but made some pots of gold as Christmas table favours;

    Another quickie and then I can start hitting the thanks button :D

    HB (Home Bargains) had sewing kit boxes in blue floral and pink striped for £1.99 that should make decent looking baskets. Will get a pic of those posted too asap. I think originally they were £3.99 or £4.99.

    passion8 - sorry probably should have said that they are 2 and almost 5
    lol

    Hi Maria :) Sorry that I asked the question and then didn't even reply to you :o but I've just seen that rainmac came to the rescue :) (Great list too :D) I was trying to find a list that I'd read about Festive gifts for a Fiver on here, but it might not have suited little imps ;) anyway. Made a good read nevertheless, so I'll try and find it again :)

    rainmac - Thanks so much for the reply re shredding cellophane (and to Rusty too and anyone else I've missed for other suggestions :)). I'd bought some iridescent shred from an ebayer a few years ago, and it was the best I'd used, and still use too, but the seller's stopped trading. Then I realised that I've never seen iridescent cellophane that I could have shredded :confused: so it wouldn't have been applicable anyway :o:D But thanks again for trying with the cello :) x

    WOW Im really impressed with everyones hampers they are looking fab im soo jealous. I have started making my first one but think I will have to add a few more bits n bobs as its looking a bit bare.

    I also tried to do the cup cake sock thing and its a disaster. I am so disappointed you guys make it look easy.

    I would appreciate any help on this. Here is some pics so you can see where i am going wrong. thank you

    Mrs T, love your basket of goodies, looks very pretty :T

    If you're having trouble with your socks, why not try one sock in two cases. I couldn't master 2 flannels in one case but others (namely Rusty!) found it easy :confused:

    Please click for bigger version.

    I might unwrap these and use the swirly cellophane instead. Those flannel cakes definitely aren't easy lol.
