Loving all the new pictures you can tell its getting closer everyone is packing and wrapping!!

I love the yorkshire teapot where did you get it

Love the Daim in the cello cones was thinking about doing sweets in a cone for the stall i will have at village xmas fair how long are they the filled section IYKWIM approx how many/weight sweets to fill them thought of roses or heroes ..............buying a big tin and splitting ideal for teachers etc maybe with a ginger heart tag saying best teacher?

Also after pink car wash stuff asdas is expensive

Sophiesmum do you use a lot less paper wrapping underneath rather than scrunching on top??

    Waffled ..................sorry

    Shaz
Shaz if you mean the cello - I find if you wrap it flat like the coffee hamper it uses loads less cello to wrap. Also the men in my family don't like the fussy bows etc so I keep theirs plain and do the bows for the females:D

I found this http://www.getabagsealer.com/heat-sealer-order.html while thinking about the snowman soup bags, & thought it might come in handy for sealing up some of the cello  At the very least, you could make your own gift bags from the wonderful decorated cello you have been using for the hampers.
I haven't yet invested, but think it will more than pay for itself by preventing me eating a full bag of sweeties in one sitting :rotfl:
    Hi everyone
Just wanted to know if anyone thought this was a good idea,or if anyone had bought one.
    Thanks

I picked up an almost identical jml one in asda a few months ago, it was only about £3, does work though but takes a bit of getting used to.

Looks great again Rainmac... I've nearly run out of the gold cello I ordered. Still have loads of the Xmas tree design left tho...

blushingbride - for your friend with cancer a few ideas:
    * chocolate always goes down well
    * a positive fun book of quotes and pictures - the works were selling some like this for a couple of pounds (nothing too heavy as can be hard to concentrate when thinking of the big C)
    * a journal to perhaps record her journey and to write down some of the things she doesn't want to burden others with
    * a nice pen to go with it
    * a funny DVD - they say laughter is the best medicine
    * fluffy socks in a cup cake case or mug of course or tied with ribbon (I think you sometimes feel the cold more when going thro chemo)
    * perhaps a nice fleecy blanket for the same reason?
    * lavendar scented items like a cuddly toy, wheat bag, or items from instore (poundstretcher)
    * a cuddly toy or soft fur cushion (possibly shaped) but big enough to hug and squeeze!

    Hope that helps

WOW Im really impressed with everyones hampers they are looking fab im soo jealous. I have started making my first one but think I will have to add a few more bits n bobs as its looking a bit bare.

I also tried to do the cup cake sock thing and its a disaster. I am so disappointed you guys make it look easy.

I would appreciate any help on this. Here is some pics so you can see where i am going wrong. thank you

  • Mrs T, I think the basket looks lovely. How about putting a flannel in the bottom of your basket to bulk it up a little bit. Wilkos are fab for cheapy ones or tesco do a white value one for about 19p. You could even add in a little pack of cotton wool to go with the nivea and pad it out a bit for a few pennies. Savers chemist had the smaller packs of cotton wool pads for about 50p, I think.

Have you tried putting an elastic band around the socks before putting in the case? I find that holds the socks/ flannel together a bit tighter IYKWIM.
