Hi everyone, i think that your work is brilliant, i have been collecting stuff for my hampers since October but i am letting myself down on presentation. The items are mainly Health & Beauty with a few sweet treats, so the baskets could do with being quite large. Does anyone know where i can buy them relatively cheaply from at this late stage???
Any tips on the selophane stuff and ribbons would also be helpful i am a complete novice. Sorry to go back to basics

    Happy Bargain Hunting

Wilkinsons are selling baskets - I have some smallish deep ones with wooden handles that cost me £2.99 each. Cellophane and ribbons can be bought from Flower Hour on Ebay or direct (http://www.flowerhour.co.uk). I got that tip from here too so ordered some yesterday plus it was quite reasonable prices.

I have plenty of stuff for hampers and I shall be making one for my mate Sal who is going to live on a narrowboat plus she can use the basket for storage afterwards.

This whole topic has been truly inspirational and I would never have thought of making any until I visited this forum.:T

    Chocolate seashels £1.30 - Lidl
    Continental Biscuits £2.20 - Lidl
Choclate Florentine £1.50 ish - Lidl
    Chocolate Gingerbread round £0.99 Lidl

I haven't bought any chocolate, biscuits etc from Lidl before. Are they nice? They would all go nicely in my Dad's "sweet tooth" hamper! Thanks.

They are great! Lidl have loads of nice European foods especially at Christmas. Super quality.

If someone can give me a hand with my pictures I'll upload them so you know what you're looking for.

i got my baskets from morissons and they were cheap.

the cellophane i got from the fruit and veg shop, florists wouldn't sell it to me.
but our fruit and veg sold me some, as they do fruit hampers.
I just told her what i was doing and she was fine with it.

This is the hamper I have done for my MIL, she is having a new en suite bathroom built so I thought I would do her a pamper hamper.
    In it she has:-
    3 piece Ceramic set £ 7.00
Picture Frame £7.00 ( Will put a picture in of all the family )
    Smelly set £4.00
    Bath Pillow £2.00
    Slippers £1.30
    Bath Scrunchie 40p
    PJ's £2.00
    Cosmetic Bag 50p
And underneath it all a Morphy Richards Body Massager Free! (had it years but never used, was destined for the car boot then I remembered this hamper, perfect!)
Box 40p ( she can use this in her new utility room)
Budget was £20.00 so a bit over but couldn't resist adding to it!

The little one is was only 1 a few days ago.. so i had to go pink pink pink -i have tried to add some practical bits like the hat n scarf... :rotfl: although i reckon her mum will have more fun with it than scrumpdiddlyumptious - she is mad on Pooh bear :D

this one is for another niece.. there does seem to be a choc theme running through the kids ones -but -well it is xmas :p ... and have managed to sneak in a britney spears perfumed glitz stick....
