    Wilkinsons are selling baskets - I have some smallish deep ones with wooden handles that cost me £2.99 each. Cellophane and ribbons can be bought from Flower Hour on Ebay or direct (http://www.flowerhour.co.uk). I got that tip from here too so ordered some yesterday plus it was quite reasonable prices.

    I have plenty of stuff for hampers and I shall be making one for my mate Sal who is going to live on a narrowboat plus she can use the basket for storage afterwards.

    This whole topic has been truly inspirational and I would never have thought of making any until I visited this forum.:T

    Thankyou so much, for the excellent tips, cant wait to try my artistic side out to, hopefully proud enough to show mine on here to.
    You are very kind!

    Hi guys! loiving all the hampers! they are so amazing!!!! My friend was delighted with her "detox and relax" basket for her birthday - i think it was the thought that had gone into it that she loved...

    Now, im usually quite creative, and mums pamper hamper is looking lush, as is her "grow your own veg" one...i have the ideas, and the items and just need to finish them so I'm happy with that. :D:D

    Heres the problem. I was going to make my OH a "vintage night in hamper" complete with dvds, turtles comics, old games etc. (as im buying him a very large present, i wanted a hamper to go with it that was relatively cheap but something to open with the large gift.)

    However, my mum n dad ended up nabbing the DVDs to give to him, his parents have got him some stuff I wanted to get him and now I'm left with a higgeldy piggeldy mis-matching items and loads of random looking snacks....so need YOUR help to direct me on what to buy/what to leave out etc. or come up with some sort of theme for me, as I'm completely lost!!! The travel game was kind of for when we go camping, but it was the only travel game I could buy in October - not the best! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Here are the items that I have: (any help much appreciated! TIA) :

    Nail clippers (he asked for these - they weren't really for the hamper!!)
    Blackcurrant and Licquorice sweets
    Toffee Popcorn
    Travel version of Hungry Hippos
    Gilette Mach 3 Set
    Socks
    Pringles
    Jelly Sweets
    Lynx Set
    Turtles comics that have disappeared (oops!)

    Any advances/themese/ideas/thoughts?? PLEASE HELP YOU SUPER DUPER PEOPLE!! :A

    Here are a couple hampers I have made on behalf of my friend.

    They both had to be "shower hampers"

    pc060007xx0.jpg

    I can't remember the exact prices so these are mostly estimates. I got paid £10 for this one.
    =================
    Basket - £1.00 (charity shop)
    White Towel - 33p (Poundland - 3 pack for....£1)
    Sponge - 49p (Morrissons)
    Shower puff - 69p (Morrissons)
    Cooling Eye Glasses - 69p
    Dove - £1.76 (BOGOF Morrissons)
    Radox shower gel - £1.65 (BOGOF Morissons)
    Soap (wrapped in tissue paper) - 25p (Poundland - 4 pack for ......£1)
    =================
    TOTAL: £6.86
    =================

    Smaller shower hamper

    pc060009ro0.jpg

    Again I can't remember the exact prices but I got paid £5 for this one.
    =================
    Basket - 19p (Charity shop)
    White Towel - 33p (Poundland - 3 pack for....£1)
    Nail Brush - 19p (BJ's Value House)
    Shower Puff - 33p (Brian Fords - 3 pack for £1)
    Avon Shower gel - £1.00
    Aussie 3 minute miracle mask - freebie
    Soap (wrapped in tissue/wrapping paper) - 25p (Poundland - 4 pack for ......£1)
    Flannel - 16p (Poundstretcher - 6 for £1.00)
    =================
    TOTAL: £2.45
    =================

    Also the flannel reindeers were very popular. I sold 11 at £1.50 each and I could have easily sold more. Everyone loved them as they are so cute and they got lots of attention. They would look great in a hamper.

    I ended up with the same dilemma when OH decided he really wanted a new cd player fixing in his car for xmas:rolleyes:
    I didn't really have a theme or anything for the bits and pieces I had bought but still wanted to make him a hamper. In the end I decided to do a surprise hamper. I have wrapped all his pressies in the same shiny silver wrapping paper and put in a basket, then wrapped with cellophane and silver ribbon. It looks fab and cos everything is wrapped he will have no idea what is in it till it is unwrapped:D :D:D
