Hello,
Been a lurker on here for a while but my hampers are now finished. They were a bit last minute. Mostly because I ran out of ideas for a present and thought this was a way of making it a bit easier for myself.
First one is for Granny.
Had bought her a bottle of Baileys earlier in the year when it was reduced but when I got it out to wrap it I spotted it went out of date at the end of November. So I gave her that early.
Budget £10
Basket - Free (already had it around the house)
Chocolate seashels £1.30 - Lidl
Continental Biscuits £2.20 - Lidl
Choclate Florentine £1.50 ish - Lidl
Chocolate Gingerbread round £0.99 Lidl
White chocolate covered strawberries £0.79 Home Bargains
Chocolate Orange Wafer Tin £0.49 - Home Bargains
Pink box contains chocolates from the 'chocolate lady' who visits my work. They're chocolate egg shapes covered in strawberry 'dust' like you get on bon-bons. They were £1.50 but I ate half of them myself (well you can't give somebody something that might be awful) and the box was from some Tescos chocolates that I originally bought as an emergency gift whilst half price but I scoffed myself after a dreadful day at work
. So I'm counting this as £1.
The bit I'm most please with is the lining. Couldn't quite decide what to do about it as didn't want to have to buy shredded paper. Then had a brainwave in the poundshop today. Tea towels. 3 of them for a £1.
Cellophane 50p
Total £9.80
Second one for my sister. She's a bit tricky to buy for as she has expensice tastes. Budget £10 again.
500g tin of Charbonnel et Walker Hot chocolate £8
Lindt Bobby Bunny Chocolates £0.90 Home BRagains
Cellophane 50p
Ribbon 25p
Sorry, was going to post pics but not sure how to do it.0 -

Hi everyone, i think that your work is brilliant, i have been collecting stuff for my hampers since October but i am letting myself down on presentation. The items are mainly Health & Beauty with a few sweet treats, so the baskets could do with being quite large. Does anyone know where i can buy them relatively cheaply from at this late stage???
Any tips on the selophane stuff and ribbons would also be helpful i am a complete novice. Sorry to go back to basics

I haven't bought any chocolate, biscuits etc from Lidl before. Are they nice? They would all go nicely in my Dad's "sweet tooth" hamper! Thanks.0 -
Hi Lara,
Yes they are nice, the chocolate florentines are to die for! Just thinking about them makes my mouth water. I'm sure he will love them.0 -
