Recommendations for a luxury car

There was a Merc S class in one of our local places in Dec had everything including airconditiond rear seats.

IIRC a S600 52 plate 40k for <£11k

Small boot put me off.

My dad got a Jag LWB XJ something job(much lower price range) not good.


Skoda superb gets good reviews and are well equiped.

Hmmm, how about an 04 supercharged 4.4 Range Rover Vogue?

Certainly luxury at £60K+ when new, even big and wafty (though not asked for). 3 gallons a week on 17mpg combined but get a good warranty as it will stretch the pension for repairs if anything breaks!

You can't buy much bigger. The 6.1 litre V8 will do 24 on a run.

the supercharged V8 might be a harsher ride though.

the 2.7 v6 has more than enough power to move these heavy lumps but still feels comfy.
