Just popped in to say hi - I'm off SW for now due to various reasons, but sticking to my own plan for the time being.
Hope you are all well :)

rocky4 - thanks. I've got the recipes ta, was just wondering if anyone had tried hem. I think yours is the only positive feedback! Most people think Scan Bran is inedible in any form. I think I will give the chocolate one a go though, after all, I've already bought the Scan Bran!
  • Hi again!

Discovered the other day that you can do baked potatoes in the slow cooker!

This is great for me as it means I can come home to a hot baked potato, ready to put any filling on. I won't use a microwave as I believe they're not healthy for you, and thought this might be useful to share.

You just wash and dry your potatoes, pierce them, wrap in foil and bung in the slow cooker (no water). I did mine on low for 8 hours. The skin doesn't crisp, but whilst I was heating up my quorn chilli to go with it I popped them in the oven for a few minutes. I have a dinky little counter top oven which I use when I don't want to put on the main oven. It heats up in no time, and after 5 to 10 minutes the potatoes crisped up lovely, like those you buy from baked potato stalls!

You don't have to crisp them up but I thought I'd try it. They have a lovely flavour done in the slow cooker, and if you need to leave them in an hour or 2 more they won't spoil!

Useful for those who work full time ;) Also you can put extra potatoes in, then slice up the leftovers for potato salad for lunch the next day. Good eh?!

    Hello

    ooh new thread!!

today i tried one of the new chocolate hifi bars - is it just me or are they not fibre plus bars in disguise!?!?

also when i get back on track i am thinking of having porridge in the mornings. not really had it before so i want to start of by using the easy sachet things.
could someone tell me which are heb?
and if the flavoured ones are a heb + extra syns or just syns ????

the new hi fi bars are seriously yummy !! i'm torn between them and fibre plus now :o

The Oatso simple are a HEB and the flavoured ones are HEB + syns
I have the golden syrup one which works out at HEB+1.5 syns of yumminess, I also find it makes up just as well using half milk half water.....so I can have the other half of my HEA milk for some cups of tea ;)

    Gooooood Evening all

Well done to those with losses :T, and helllllo to the returners :D...oooohhh and hello to everyone else too :p

hope we are all well biggrin.gif

I had a spur of the moment trip to the local Decathlon as I wanted some less baggy bottoms (clothing - although I wouldn't object if my own was less baggy either tongue.gif).... I have only been there once before and it was when I decided to join the gym and I had to squidge myself into the 2XL size.... I decided today I would brave getting plain old Large -thinking they might be a bit over tight -but I would be in them in a few weeks -BUT they fit fine bliss.gifI got a pair of full length, a pair of 3/4 and a mid length pair and then 2 pairs slightly thicker and full length.... and they were all €6 a pair ..so Im a happy bunny and my bum doesn't look like a bag of ferrets fighting :D. I don't actually go out in them I just like plain black comfies for wearing around the house -so now Im a happy bunny . My other ones are just going round in the washer and then I need to re-home them wink.gif -I am NOT walking round with a baggy a** rotflmao.gif.
I soooooooo hope I hit target before we leave as I would love to get let loose in there and be able to completely kit myself out -once I hit my goal weight and know what size I am -and will be staying at then I will buy the good stuff, and it would be great if I could get all the stuff I need for my trek whilst Im at it....
Anyhoo enough waffle about pants tongue.gif

Today Im on another Green day -seem to be having a lot of those this week, although Im not kicking the backside out of the carbs,,,,so today is:-
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • no brekkie -went out early slap.gif
    • feta frittata (B)
    • roasted tomato n onion sauce
    • celeriac salad -a new find today, tickled in a jar woohoo.gif
    • apple
    • activia (2.5)
    • pineapple
    • melon
    • jacket potato
    • cottage
    • lettuce
    • cucumber
    • tomato

    • tickled beetroot
    • tickled cabbage
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • fibre plus (B)
    • pineapple
    • activia (2.5)
So thats 2A+Bs and 5 syns accounted for... will see if I can squish more in later...

    Evening all.

Went to WI in this morning and have lost 1lb. I only have another 4½ to lose to get to target.

Going on holiday on 13th March for 2 weeks I was hoping to get there before I go (v unlikely now)

Going to do red this week see if that will budge another couple of pounds.

    Evening all!
An Ok-ish day today foodwise.....(green day again)

Breakfast - Hifi bar (B choice)
    Mid Morning - banana
Lunch - spaghetti, passata, strawberries and grapes
Snack at meeting - 2 choc digestives (8 syns)
Dinner - egg fried rice (recipe from green recipe book) (free)

    So that's....
    A choice - none yet
    B choice - 1
    Syns - 8

I NEED to get the flabby bits gone! I only want to lose a stone and so far its seeming like a long way away:o

Out for a meal tomorrow evening with work at a posh restaurant - expensive and no control over what's on the menu - I'll limit myself to just a main course and a couple of drinks but it may well be a flexible syn day - don't like those days, feel a bit out of control IYKWIM. I really wanted to stick to the plan religiously for 2 weeks to see what difference it makes but this is just getting in the way - grrr:mad: Have to go too as the boss has organised it.
Oh well, there's always Sat, Sun and Mon before weigh in on Tues to try to pull it back on course.....

    Evening all,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me please can having too many superfrees be a bad thing? As sometimes I seem to have more than 1/3 superfree, for instance breakfast I'll have a fruit salad (1 banana, some grapes, some pineapple a kiwi for example) and then about 4 spoonfuls of FF natural yoghurt and there must be more fruit than there is yoghurt, so way over 1/3 superfree.
Also sometimes with evening meals I cook too much veg, so I have loads on my plate, thinking surely its better to fill up with superfree. I don't make the amout of free foods smaller, just end up having extra superfree. I have STS the last 3 weeks and wondered if this is anything to do with it. Although I think its more to do with the excercising I'm doing.
