Need to pick your brains!
I bought some light soft cheese from lidl yesterday, called Linessa Frischkase-zubereitung. Think it was 59p for 200g and it says only 0.2% fat. Does anyone else buy this? Wondering about HE/syn values?
100g:
Calories: 61
Protein: 11
Carbs: 3.9
Sugar: 3.7
Fat: 0.2
Fibre: 1.4
Salt: 0.3
Linessa, Low Fat Soft Cheese, Light, 0.2% Fat, 1 syn per 28g on all plans so works out about 7 syns for the whole tub!A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit!:rotfl:

Regarding the Lidl cream cheese, I buy this all the time and have always considered it free like quark. Anyway, when I joined SW recently I looked it up online, and it says it's 1 syn on all plans per 28g.
However, last week I also had some quark in my fridge (which is free), and compared the nutritional info on both packs. They are almost identical for protein, carbs, fat etc etc. In fact, the Lidl low fat cheese seemed to fare a fraction better.
Soooo.... decide for yourself. I'm still tempeted to consider it as free!
I wish I could believe that. I'd love to use it for pasta sauce. Lots of Linessa products are listed on the website but that's not one of them unfortunately. While I was looking, I noticed that their salad dressing was half a syn but I thought less than 40 calories was syn free??? Where's that confused smilie when you need it? Perhaps our wise consultant or someone may be able to help.
My EE day today:
B: porage (HE), banana, milk (HE)
L: vegetable and lentil soup, half a melon
D:SW chicken curry with SW chips and rice
I may have an apple or finish the melon if I need a snack. I'm trying not to have any syns today to make up for yesterday. Fingers crossed!0 -

I think it was just the overwhelming taste of turkey that spoils it, it has quite a strong flavour and just did not seem to marry into the sauce well like beef does.
Yeah that should work, and its syn free so even better!0 -
Evening all! Well done to all losers, I've so far managed a good saturday. Trying a new Jamie Oliver recipe tonight, Pollo alla cacciatora (hunters chicken). It has half a bottle of wine in so I need to calculate the syns once I see how many servings it does. I've been out working in the green house this afternoon,it was lovely!
This morning we wnet to have alook at the church to decide what we want to do with the flowers for the wedding. I think we're sorted but I'm getting a bit worried about the bridesmaid dresses, they were meant to be delivered 2 weeks ago but they've not appeared yet. We were meant to be going for a fitting on wed but she cancelled and told me they were coming thurs. Rang up today and they're still not here......Stressed!!
Anyway, today is EE:
Brekkie 1 (at work) - banana
Brekkie 2 (after work) - tomatoes, mushrooms, 2 small toast (HEB), marmite
Lunch - large salad (lettuce, toms, cuc, onion, celery), small jacket potato, tuna, dressing (1), pickle (1), yogurt
Snack - plum
Tea - hunter's chicken (3ish? will calculate later), tagliatelle, carrots, green beans
HEA - milk in teas
So I'm working on about 5 syns there then, I'll probably have some fruit or something equally exciting for supper!!0 -
Just wondering if someone could let me know if the dinner I have planned is suitable for an EE day (my books arrived today, but I was having a lazy lie in and didn't hear the postman!)
I'm making singapore rice noodles, they are my fav and I've got them tasting very close to the ones I used to get from chinese takeaway.
It's basically;
Chicken breast 400g
prawns 200g
pork fillet 200g
whole onion
whole carrot
1 green pepper
1 bag beansprouts
1 can bamboo shoots
1 bag fresh rice noodles 375g (Tesco)
The sauce is
1 1/2 tablespoons hot curry powder
4 cardamon pods crushed and seeds used only
1 1/2 inch piece fresh grated ginger
2 cloves fresh grated garlic
A few splashes each of
light soy sauce
concentrated chicken stock
rice wine vinegar
The whole thing is cooked with sesame oil and from what I can work out the syns are coming from the oil and chicken stock and ? the soy sauce?
I still need to use some oil, the sesame oil gives it flavour too, but what I will do is soften the garlic/ginger in 1/2 teaspoon and then add the other half to cook off the curry powder. From then on any extra oil I would usually add could be frylight? The stock is only about 1/2 teaspoon.
This makes a huugge amount that makes 4 big portions so am eating it for days but I don't care. It tastes extra yummy cold at 8am after a long night shift!
So I'm thinking because it has so much veg in it that is free on both days I can use it as an extra easy meal and not worry about mixing that amount of rice noodles and meat?
Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated x0 -

Sounds yummy
I'm afraid the noodles will have to be synned, only dried noodles and pastas are free.
I've always counted soy sauce as free, I would also use a crushed up oxo with a splash of water, as I'm sure the concentrated stock has syns in it.
I'm sure someone will be able to tell you exactly. I still might pinch the recipe if you don't mind!Currently takling Barclaycard - £67/£350Debt free date October 2014:jDoing it for my girlies!!:j38lbs lost in 2011SW for May 8lb/7lb0
