NAyone worried about reheating rice....as already mentioned, it'simportant to get it nice and hot when you heat it up but its also MEGA important to cool it down as quickly as possible. If I have rice leftover I run it under the cold tap in the seive I used to drain it until its totally cold. That also stops it from sticking together as a big gloopy mass! Oh and they say you shouldn't keep it for more than 24hrs but I've often cooked breakfast rice in a big batch then had it 3 or 4 days in a row (and I have it cold, not reheated!).

    !
Very wise lady not re warming you're breakfast rice (especially not to just luke warm oops)
......I still shudder at my experience of this :rotfl::o gawd I was sooooooo ill !! _pale_

Oh AND (they dont call me dizzy just cos I wobble when I walk you know :p) ..... at class on thursday our consultant brought in a big tub of mash to try which was blooming luverly (and syn free:A) she had mashed some spuds with ff fromage frais then sprinkled in some seasoning from a jar.
Now I just cant remember the exact name but it was like a swartchz jar and it was 'garlic & herb for mash' I reckon it would make a really tasty pizza base too instead of using smash;) which I think is a bit yacky they also do a couple of others she said for meaty things.

anyway I think Im going to try do a red day today again

    Brunch/lunch omlette onion,tom,ham HEA cheese

    T chicken, cauli,brocoli carrot&swede mash,HEB1 new pots 198g 2 syn gravy. yog

    Need to pick your brains!

I bought some light soft cheese from lidl yesterday, called Linessa Frischkase-zubereitung. Think it was 59p for 200g and it says only 0.2% fat. Does anyone else buy this? Wondering about HE/syn values?

    100g:

    Calories: 61
    Protein: 11
    Carbs: 3.9
    Sugar: 3.7
    Fat: 0.2
    Fibre: 1.4
    Salt: 0.3

I've never used the syn calculator before but when I put in the list it said 'free'. Unfortunately it would only let me choose cottage cheese under dairy so maybe I've not done it right. Hopefully an expert will be along soon, before we get too excited!:rotfl:

I was quietly hoping it might be free, as it's so low fat! I've used some on my toast this morning instead of marg and it's yummy. I usually use light utterly butterly stuff, which is about 350cals per 100g, so it's a massive saving

Am waiting to hear the answer about this lidl cheese :j OH wuld be well chuffed he loves cream cheese :)

I am absolutely aghast to report that both me and OH have sustanied a loss - I lost a whole LB - well chuffed isnt the word. However, i sense next week is the week when it "catches up" the over syns- so I am going to try and be ever so good as I do not want to gain. ( however, Im almost ready to consider bikini shopping!)

Oh lost 3lbs which is probably a bit unfair as hwe has been drinking lager as well as having kitkats. without the extra lager im sure he would have lostwhat he needs to by now, never mind he is happy with it!

  • Hi all!

Regarding the Lidl cream cheese, I buy this all the time and have always considered it free like quark. Anyway, when I joined SW recently I looked it up online, and it says it's 1 syn on all plans per 28g.

However, last week I also had some quark in my fridge (which is free), and compared the nutritional info on both packs. They are almost identical for protein, carbs, fat etc etc. In fact, the Lidl low fat cheese seemed to fare a fraction better.

Soooo.... decide for yourself. I'm still tempeted to consider it as free!
