Just wondering if someone could please check a syn value for 2 items for me please (just until I get my new books).
It's 'Tesco finest giant cous cous with puy lentils and chipolte'. 220g pot. I had half of this last night and want to have the other half with lunch as it's lovely and don't want to waste it.
I don't imagine it's a horrible amount of syns and there's going to be no chocolate or treats today, so won't go over, but will be nice to know for future reference.
The other is Doritos lightly salted chips. I was planning to have a handful of these (8-10) with a homemade chilli tmrw (instead of rice).
Neither are in my old 2006 food directory.
Thank you0 -

xx0 -
Good luck to all Thursday weighers, well done to all u losers, my weight loss is so slow, its getting me down now :-(
I lost a pound last night, which I am grateful, but I hoped after 7 weeks Id have lost a stone at least, but only 10lbs boohoo. I am sticking to plan so well, not once have I mucked up, so I feeel I deserve to lose a bit more. My Mum is also following this with me, and she has syns she doesnt even count, doesnt exercise and has lost the same as me, so unfair!!!
Has anyone got any advice for me to speed things up a bit??? I want to get to my stone award for my birthday on 10 April, which I don't think is unreasonable, what can I do to push it along a bit HELLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP XXX0 -

You are certainly within the reccommended weight loss amount which is between 1-1.5 lbs lost each week, so your actually doing well!
Are you using all of your 15 syns a day? Usually, the more you have the better your losses get. Try snacking on superfree food like fruit and veg instead of just free food; ie mugshots/pasta n sauce type things.
Another one is if you are eating too many bananas, some people don't have a problem, but sometimes eating too many banana's in a week make losses not as good.
Are you measuring your healthy extra's correctly? and actually eating them all, as these are vital for a healthy life style.
Also, have you tried varying the food your eating and the Red/Green/EE days, sometimes the body gets 'comfortable' eating the same things each week. Try mixing up each day, and trying more red days, as people say that more red days produce a better loss.
And try new things! try a new fruit, and try and to add it instead of the same old fruit every day. I've also heard that eating a lot of fish can also help achieve good results.
another thing; DYNO ROD SOUP :rotfl:
Hope this helpsxxx

Total loss so far = 10lbs / 25lbs0 -
Thank you for your advice autumnflower :-)
I use about 12 syns a day usually, and I tend to snack on superfree foods/free foods about 50/50. For eg of an eveing when I am getting peckish I will have a big bowl of strawberries and a FF muller light. I have stacks of fruit and veg each day, way more than I think I need too.
I don't overdo the bananas either, have about 3 a week.
But.... I do tend to stick to the same meals each week, and I average out 5 days on EE, and 1 Green and 1 red.
So, I will take this on board and try to eat a more varied diet, eat more fish, and will do more red days, and hopefully I can shift a bit more weight.
Thank you very much for taking the time to tell me all that, much appreciated xxx0 -
Hi all, I went to WI last night and had put on 0.5lb for the second week running! Very annoyed with myself! I've just been to collect my dress for my hen night, the lady had let it out a teeny bit at the waist so I tried it on and it feels tighter than ever! I WILL lose 2lbs this week so I feel better in it a week on Saturday! i intend to exercise atleast 5 times this week and I do have an extra day to get my 2lb loss as I can't get to my normal wednesday class so I'm going to go to the Thursday one instead. That'll help me lots too as we're out for a meal on Wednesday, if I wasn't going to the class I'd end up having a naughty meal but if I'm getting weighed the next day it will make me be good!!! The only other thing I have to contend with is it's my Dad's 65th birthday on Sunday so we're having a bit of a party (that's what the meal's for too) so I will be having a small slice of birthday cake but I'll try to minimise the syns otherwise.
I'm going EE today but I'm trying to have more than a third superfree. I have been doing SE but I end up eating an extra HEB for the sake of it so I'm going to try something different!
Brekkie - porridge (HEA&B), mixed berries, banana
Lunch - Hm minestrone soup, sw quiche filled with toms/onions/mushrooms/peppers/sweetcorn/herbs, melon
Tea - beef, noodle & veg stir fry with extra stir fried veg on the side. Will be about 2syns for the sauce but I need to work it out more accurately. I might use another syn or 2 for a drop of oil to do the stir fry in as I struggle to do it with fry-light although I use it for everything else! I may also have a yogurt for pudding.0 -
Dinner Beef casserole with carrots mushrooms onions etc, plus "roasties" thickened with smash - syn free.
I don't know if this is true but I read on a website that Smash is no longer free due to changed recipe???Miss_Piggy wrote: »Completely fell off the wagon last night. A bottle of wine got me - followed by buttery toast and a packet of mini cheddars!! Miss P

 Oh dear, hopefully it won't have all turned to fat by tonight and you can balance it out by next week. Well done you on coming on here early to confess and start afresh!
Good luck to Geeves1980, the good thing is you'll be able to have chips again!!
:T to all losers. I lost 1.5lbs at WI today, so that's 3lbs to go to my 2.5 stone.
EE for me today:
B: NAS grapefruit, Kippers and HE toast (I'm ignoring the butter in pack of kippers as it's a tiny amount and DH ate half anyway), tea and HE milk
L: HM lentil and veg soup, half a meloncod, chips, tomatoes, mushrooms and peas.
If I fancy a snack I bought some cheap raspberries today so will need eating up ASAP.0
