The Slimming World "Countdown to Easter"

Hi guys. I've finally accepted low carb eating isn't much use when I'm exercising simply because I feel so weak and don't have much energy, so I'm looking around for a new eating regime. Never tried SW before and if I'm honest, I'm really not up for the group sessions where you all take a turn at talking about what you've done etc. (Too much like pretending to be a tree in group drama classes at school for my liking
)
So, I'm thinking about the online side. Just been browsing the site and found out it's £80 for Gold membership for 3 months only.
I've got a fair bit to lose so it would be worth it if it worked but I'd appreciate opinions from anyone who does this online only? £80 makes for an expensive mistake if it's not all that great.
Any thoughts?
Hi aliasojo
I am a long time low carber who has changed to slimming world. I do have to say that I never had low energy from low carb - just the opposite. I was always full of energy. Just learned the tweaks too well.
I started Slimming world on the 9th of January and so far have lost 24lbs:D
I too have plenty to loose and have found the switch to SW very easy. Had some problems with bloating after eating carbs initially but that soon wore off and I am very pleased with the results. I feel as fueled as I did then I started Low Carbing. SW works!
I don't go to a class and I didn't join online. I got my books from fleabay and just hung around here to learn the way of eating. I do have a weigh in day - Sunday is my day. It makes me behave on Saturday and with a good loss on Sunday keeps me on track for the whole danger zone ie weekend;)
Have a look around and see what you think. There are plenty of people who go it alone and succeed.
Good luck:DMags - who loves shopping0 -

Oh that is a great idea, thank you! My weigh in day at home is saturday as I dont go group either- I might change it to Sunday evening to escape my danger zone! thanks!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Thanks for the balsamic vinegar advice (and the chilli flakes), I'll definitely be trying that.
I did have pancakes tonight but only two very small ones (in my new tiny frying pan that I bought for individual omelettes) with banana and lemon, no sugar. I feel such a spoilsport when I don't join in with the family.
I feel I'm really clinging onto a rollercoaster at the moment, too many social syns in meals out recently, so dreading WI this week (not been able to get there for a fortnight). It's my birthday on Saturday and DH said we should get a cake 'that I can eat' for when the family come round for cake and champagne. Bless him he meant well, but I don't think a Scan Bran concoction would hit the spot!
In between the social stuff I'm trying to be really good but it's still too many syns.0 -

I was the same when I wasn't exercising tbh. I felt fine and very alert as opposed to being sleepy or sluggish when I wasn't low carbing.
The problem only came in when I started exercising. I must have had enough fuel for couch sitting but not anything else.
Well done on your weight loss, that's brill! :THerman - MP for all!0 -
Back at ya!
Is the whole gang here then? :rotfl:
Pretty much! Hope you stick around Alias, it really does work and you get to eat pasta and rice:Dblackberry-rum wrote: »Learn to love 'em! Pink Lady is the only way to go:) They are more expensive but i dont care because i love them.
Just having a coffee, today will be green.

Trying to stay on track though and focus on what I'm eating even though my head keeps saying s0d it !Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000 -
Not sure what to expect tonight. I've had a good week and done plenty of excercise but my scales at home show a 2lb gain and I've no idea why.Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

Hey dizzy this is the crisprolls, I love love them with cottage cheese and couscous salady bits, must buy some more http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/tesco-price-comparison/Crackers/Pagen_Wholegrain_Krisprolls_225g.html
Ta for the info on the Krisprolls.....I will hunt some down when I go shopping :j
Dizzy I couldn't eat those tins of fish in tomato sauce either, and I've never been able to eat those sachets of tuna with flavouring type stuff when not on a diet because they remind me of cat food sachets too. The krisprolls are sold in our local A$da, in the same aisle as ryvita and crackers.
glad its not just me with the 'cat food thing then' :rotfl:blackberry-rum wrote: »Now, does this kind of thing happen to anyone else? I have a sheep sleeping on my back doorstep. She wakes if I go near the door, and peers in at me in a friendly way. I finally tracked down a farmer who kind of acknowledged she might be one of his, but doesn't plan on coming to round her up until tomorrow. The cats are spooked (why I don't know, as we are surrounded by sheep, they just don't usually sleep on the doorstep).
*shudders* my worst nightmare.....being stalked by a sheep !! Im sooooooo scared of the big scary ugly beasts
