Hi guys. I've finally accepted low carb eating isn't much use when I'm exercising simply because I feel so weak and don't have much energy, so I'm looking around for a new eating regime. Never tried SW before and if I'm honest, I'm really not up for the group sessions where you all take a turn at talking about what you've done etc. (Too much like pretending to be a tree in group drama classes at school for my liking :D)

So, I'm thinking about the online side. Just been browsing the site and found out it's £80 for Gold membership for 3 months only.
I've got a fair bit to lose so it would be worth it if it worked but I'd appreciate opinions from anyone who does this online only? £80 makes for an expensive mistake if it's not all that great.

    Any thoughts?

I'd definately go to just one class to get your books & get the basic talk about the plan (it will work out a whole load cheaper than Ebay ) and then you can just pick our brains on here (well what brains weve got between us :rotfl:)

You could try Mackerel next Dizzy - try the pate

I think you can make it by

    Smoked mackerel (28g = 1 syn EE/red), flaked
    Quark
    Seasoning
    Dill

    Mix together

I remember my Nana doing this but with Philly & it is really nice (smokey - not too fishy) - i would imagine it would be ok with Quark

If i can find some when i go shopping tonight i might try it & let you know how it works out with the quark

Mr Dizzy gets mackerel (I think) and sardines in tins with tomato sauce and the smell makes me heave _pale_ he stinks like hes been eating kitekat or something :o

I dont think Im brave enough yet to move on to the 'bad boy fishes' I can just about cope with that yellow smoked haddock :o:D

One of my friends was eating a baked potato at lunch the other day and put her tin of tuna in tom sauce on it. She called it her 'diet catfood'_pale_ Is exactly what it looked and smelt like!

I resisted the pancakes this evening and had omlette instead with mushrooms and peppers. I felt like i wasn't missing out and ds1 even asked to swap at one point. I guess sw is rubbing off on her! Oh and thank you to whoever mentioned asda chickpea dahl its lush with a little lemon juice, oh and dyno rod soup is nice too although i added two chillies and sweet potatoes for good measure (going ropey at the back of my fridge ;) ). Keep up the good work.

I've bought syn free sausages from the butcher (really are syn free, they've been making them for years and are recommended at all the local groups) and the sausages are upsetting the cat. I have grilled A$das and Te$cos low fat without a problem, but 5 minutes after these little devils go under the grill, her ladyship starts pacing the kitchen and yowling, only stopping to stand on her hind legs and peer into the grill now and then.

Dizzy I couldn't eat those tins of fish in tomato sauce either, and I've never been able to eat those sachets of tuna with flavouring type stuff when not on a diet because they remind me of cat food sachets too. The krisprolls are sold in our local A$da, in the same aisle as ryvita and crackers.

    Morning peeps

lovely and sunny here this morning - it really lifts the spirits. Bit nippy though BRRR!

My plan for today is Red, after two green days its a bit - erm -windy here :o Sorry if tmi but carbs do that to me :o

    Todays plan is :-

Brekkie - Bacon & boiled eggs
    Dinner - Soup - lentil & veg - HEB1
Tea - Curry & cauliflower instead of rice
    Grapefruit
Yogurt - Cherry one so 2 syns apparently
    Melon
    Satsuma
    Quavers 5 syns
    Tuna on toast HEB2 & 2 syns

    SD
Is it? Cherry Muller Light? I eat lots of them (frozen). When I say lots, maybe two or three a week. I thought they were free same as the other Light ones.

Now, does this kind of thing happen to anyone else? I have a sheep sleeping on my back doorstep. She wakes if I go near the door, and peers in at me in a friendly way. I finally tracked down a farmer who kind of acknowledged she might be one of his, but doesn't plan on coming to round her up until tomorrow. The cats are spooked (why I don't know, as we are surrounded by sheep, they just don't usually sleep on the doorstep). Weightloss wise? not a clue as I finally hared into class to find the scales wouldn't work so no-one could be weighed. I suggested a "guess your weight" game but no-one seemed to think that'd be a good idea.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
