Ive trawled through here for ideas and wrote out a meal planner of sorts, but it seems a bit monotonous if im honest, maybe itl just take me a bit time to get confident with what I can and cant eat, but it seems wrong that I can eat pasta and potatoes and still lose weight i cant get my head round it. Do you all find it easier having foods in that you can snack on if feeling hungry such as fruit etc?
I think il try and make some hummous if thats free as I like things like that.0 -

Hi there
I started off doing EE because thats what my sis ( whos a consultant) does and she told me its the easiest diet in the world- its not like a diet as you eat "normally". However, I can do without eating meat every day and meat is expensive, so often we do green days as well. We prob do 3 green and 4 EE days a week.
You do still lose weight eating pasta/ potaotes etc. It does work.If you stick the plan - it works! Im from a 14/16 to a size 8 now and Im maintaining, all the while eatin potatoes ( I dont really eat pasta) and rice, couscous. (im convinced more than ever that bread is a bigger problem than any of these other carbs) It also creates eating out options unlike any other "diet" Ive ever done before.
All the "favourite" meals can be made the SW way: lasagne, cottage pie, sausage & mash. We have the SW grill up a couple of times a week for breakfast. Hot chicken salads or chilli rice taco shells & salad is always a favourite here.
I do eat a fair amout, I dont do starvation lol. I have an extra HEB on EE due to maintaining:
So today I have had 4 rashers bacon, half tin beans one egg, half a punnet of mushrooms and one slice WW toast (1.3rd HEB)
Snack: blueberries & 1/2 a muller yoghurt Mini milk 3 syn
Rest of HEB - 2x pagen crisprolls and fat free cottage cheese
Lunch HEB2 Small brown roll + Veggie burger (2syn) lettuce, onion
Snack small Banana strawbs & other 1/2 yog
Dinner - Peri Peri spiced roasted chicken. Lettuce onion griddled courgette radish spring onion, carrot etc. 1/2 Small baked sweet potato with blob of cottage cheese in. Home made coleslaw made with fat free yog and VLF mayo 1 teaspoon (1 syn whole thing) and carrot, white cabbage and a bit of onion too.
Treat: Dime bar 7 syns.
2+3+7 = 12 syns.
Most recipes can be adapted to SW so if you see one you usually do or want to try post it up as Im sure someone will be able to help
L x:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Sorry Autumnflower, I've only just got round to reading this thread again and wanted to reply. During the holiday I had bacon, eggs, beans and mushrooms for breakfast and a snack at lunchtime, then an evening meal....whatever I fancied. Lots of walking during the day and lots of sunshine -keep telling dh that sunshine is really good for people on SW diets and so maybe need another holiday really soon0

Hey WelshWoofer, I'm vegtarian too and dread bbq's. Have you thought about portobello muchrooms with some thyme on them, and maybe a slice of light halloumi on top? spray with some frylight first so they don't dry up. Or you could make some vegetable kebab skewers and take them with you, or just eat before you go and just nibble some salad while you're there.
I'm off to my mum's in Dvon today, just had boiled eggs on a piece of toast for brekkie (HEB) and am going to get some fruit to munch on in the car, and mum has got some instructions about what to do for dinner, so just need to try and keep the wine under control as I do tend to drink more when I'm there!
I hope everyone's easter weekend is as relaxing or exciting as you'd like it to be xx
I'm NOT a vegetarian by any means but I really do not like barbecues. I am fine with EATING outdoors, but the reasoning behind cooking outdoors only yards from the kitchen is beyond me. The food never seems properly cooked or is burned, is generally half cold, often smells of petrol or summat. I just eat loads of salad if I can't get out of a barbecue. and I always wear a sweater cos it's colder than I think it should be:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

BBQ TORTURE IS OVER!!!!!
Managed to stick to some strawberries, 2 quorn sausages and 1 small bap and a dollop of potato salad. All free/B choice except the mayo in the potatoes.
That was until they brought out desserts....
The choice was jam doughnuts, magnum ice creams, screwball icecreams or little homemade iced fairy cakes. I showed humungous self control and had a fairy cake to show willing - everyone else seemed to have one of everything each!
So I have worked out I'm on 2 B choices, 1 A choice and 17 syns (had a bourbon biscuit when I got home too).
I suppose it could be worse - the problem is I'm nowhere near full and could eat a whole tea all over again!
Never mind, will call it a day and start again tomorrow.0 -

Hi - I am back with my tail between my legs.
I have been floundering over the past few months - not really gained, but haven't lost either.
The only bright part is that we went on a cruise up the coast of Norway, and lost a pound! Lots of walking, and v v expensive food meant we had minimal lunches as we were on half board!
I am 50 in August and want to get towards my target so I'm back for the motivation of reading your posts, and grateful for any help!
Hope everyone is OK - nice to see a lot of familiar names still here.
I am still a keen exerciser, and have just started running again. I'm not that fond of running, but know it is a good way to burn more calories!
Just need the willpower to stay with food optimising, and get back on track!!
Hey ho!NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........0 -
Hello back from a weeks very hot and sunny holiday in the New Forest - in Lymington:)
Stayed self catering so most meals were SW ones if eating in, had 2 dinners out where I had a veggie bean chilli/rice and then a Thai meal both low syn.
Naughties were more wine, chocolate and a silly syn soya choc and ice cream milkshake:o
Having said all that tons of walking, according to my scales I've put on half a pound! Lost 4lb week before hols and know next weigh in will not be great as moving from morning to evening weigh in so reckon 4lb gain or something?
Main thing is I did not forget SW and had a few extra treats and a fab holiday and am back on track again now:T
