I m going to do the cupcakes but want to bring something else but something that want cost me a fortune!

    Well done everyone x

    Glad you feeling better Dizzy

why dont you try doing the shish kebabs that I put on the recipe thread? (free on ee & red) dead easy...the mince was only £2.65 and you just need a few spices which you've probably already got in.
You could make them small for the taster session and serve on cocktail sticks? (just dont make them on a skewer, just make up like big sausages and cook)

OR our consultant brought in last week some thickish slices of cucumber, topped with cucumber which was mixed with quark, garlic, chilli and a little fresh chilli for decoration on top. It looked really pretty and tasted nice too (but Im not liking fisshy remember :o)
  • Nessie, What about the mixed bean salad I posted post no. 1652, or some other form of salad (Dizzy's suggestion is good, or maybe the beetroot salad or grated carrot & orange something or other?

I'm trying to get to grips with hunger! :o As I have wittered on about recently I don't think I am eating when I am hungry, more eating when I'm feeling stressed in my tummy :o so i've decided to not eat today until I am absolutely sure I am hungry - still waiting so far!!

Has anyone got any nice salad suggestions for a vegetarian?

I make a nice potato type salad but I add celery, spring onion & red peppers to it. I make the dressing with ff fromage frais mixed with a bit of mustard powder (and salt/black pepper to taste)

This waiting until your hungry to eat thing. You have eaten some breakfast today havent you hun? :o
  • I always find that the weather is a large factor in what I eat! I'm never hungry when it's sunny out, and almost just want to 'graze' over the day, and have a large tea and that's it. Even in the evenings when I usually have some ryvita's and carrot sticks, i'm really not fussed at the moment!

I've had a rather awful couple of days SW wise recently. I went to leeds yesterday, and even though I did lots of walking it involved eating out for lunch and tea. I went to McDonalds and ordered their chicken salad, and only after we had paid and were waiting did they tell us that they'd ran out. So I had a chicken nugget happy meal.... with the chips and not the carrot sticks. *sigh* had a lovely 5 bean chilli at a lovely pub, however I couldn't find any nutritional info to compare it to the 'spoons one to get an accurate syn value for it. Then the day before I had a few vodka's and went over syns too. I'm going to have to cut back the rest of the week really... after tonight's enchilada's (OH's fave I promised to make tonight)

    Red Day
    B - bran flakes & milk (HEB + 1/2 HEA)
Snack - 5 crab sticks & slice of ham
L - youngs cod fillet (1.5) cherry tomatoes
    T - chicken enchiladas (wrap - 6 seasoning - 1 tomato sauce - 2.5) 42g red cheese (HEA1 &2)
    Evening - strawberries / ryvita's (HEB2) & ham & carrot sticks

    SYNS = 11

    Hi everyone
Well I have to say the cajun catfish went down a storm last night! Just got the catfish, defrosted the fillets( one each) then covered them in a mix of oregano, paprika, chili and a bit of cajun premixed stuff as well as I was missing a few spices omg it was LUSH! Just like cod, maybe slightly sweeter if that makes sense. Huge flaky substantial flakes. Will be buying this again. It was 3 bags for 10er at billingsgate or 3.50 each. I just got the one. But in future Ill get more they had lots of alternatives including kingfish (?) mackerel (YAK) Pomfrets ( lots of bones?) dunno. If you have ethnic type shops ( indian) they might have some in the freezer.

Anyway started the day off badly ( by eating jaffa cakes) but since I got back from being out I have had banana and muller and mushrooms beans and WW bread- toast. It is like a slice of air I wont be buying this one again !

    So EE:
    grapenuts & skimm milk HEA & B1
    Banana & yog
beans mushroom and 2 WW toast (HEB2)
    Blueberries & yog
Chicken, salad with lettuce radish peppers onion carrot etc, and veggie dirty rice leftovers/salad , JP with FF cottage cheese

Probably shouldnt syn but I will have kit kat 5.5

Hope youre feeling better dizzy x And TIE hope your legs are not too stung, body magic for you lady! xx

    Afternoon Peeps,

WI on Monday and i stayed the same

Not bad considering having a bad friday and sunday

Made the Butternut Squash and Red Lentil Curry from the Website last night (well all day as i done in slowcooker) and it was ok - i didn't use curry paste as didn't want to use syns and i don't have it in the house so used lots of spices instead, but it was missing something

Might have something to do with me adding in lot of other ingredients that i wanted to use up - like chickpeas, carrot & swede (pre-diced, 10p from Mr A!) and i missed out the spinach cos i forgot to add it (only hve frozen as the guinea pigs eat the fresh stuff!)

Should be ok for this week, going to help out with leaflet dropping for my consultant on Friday morning, so more exercise! and i WILL get on the exercise machines at home over the long weekend

We have a taster in group next monday - any suggestions? I m going to do the cupcakes but want to bring something else but something that want cost me a fortune!

    Well done everyone x

    Glad you feeling better Dizzy
Apple Betty is really easy and cheap. Recipe on SW web site. x
