Morning all!
And what a fab way to start the day reading about all of your fabulous weight losses - absolutely fantastic! Well done to all concerned - you are great adverts for SW and your own motivation, committment and effort!:T:T
Sat here watching the London Marathon - one day.......
Mrs M - perhaps we could do it together!
So we went out for a meal last night at the South Indian place and I have no idea what syns I consumed! I stuck to diet coke so it was all food syns (good job!) and had a thali served on a banana leaf - looked lovely! Its basically a big pile of boiled rice with lots of different accompaniments in little pots around the outside. I'm a veggie so no meat but there was a big pot of veggie curry (not creamy), chana massala, cucumber and tomato stuff, okra etc. It also came with a chapati and a poppadum (shared with OH).
So today to compensate I'm having...
Breakfast - Hifi bar (B choice)
Lunch - big mixed fruit salad (kiwi, strawberries, apple, satsuma, grapes) and 2 babybel lights (A choice)
Dinner - 2 quorn sausages, broccoli, green beans, marrowfat peas, little bit of gravy
Snacks - pomegranate, vimto lolly (2 syns), ryvita minis (B choice)
So that's it for today - will do soem exercise (blo*dy Nell McAndrew!) later to try to shift a bit of the curry!0 -
Hello
I'm still trying to get into this and hope that this week will be the week! I need to lose about 5 stone.
So, I'll try posting my meal plans here and shame myself into sticking with it!
I do green days as I'm vegetarian, this is the plan for today:
Porridge with blueberries (HEB)
Ryvita and an apple
Beans on toast (HEB)
Jaacket potato with veggie chilli and maybe some cheese for a HEA
Fruit (I always eat loads of fruit)
I think that's it, although am about to go on a 4 hour drive to drop DS off with his grandparents for the holidays so not sure how I'm going to manage beans on toast. MAybe I'll have a sandwich instead..!Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -
Wotcha all!
Had a bit of a blip in that I had no choice over what I could eat on saturday (volunteering = packed lunch and this didn't arrive until 2.30pm so I was hank marvin and wolfed it all down - all except the apple of course) That sort of carried on into the evening, as I was drinking, so wanted to line my stomach. Ate a jacket spud followed by cereal (fancied something sweet) without really being hungry, and consequently ended up feeling uncomfortably full because I ate quickly and didnt pay attention to my body saying I'm not hungry. Did the same again today for breakfast to try to nurse the hangover!
Still, I am back on track now.
It really intersts me that even since I've been following paul I'm often still eating at meal times rather than waiting to be hungry (convenience because if I don't it'll be another 3 hours til I can), and I'm often either not very hungry when I eat, and/or I get full very quickly. After years of overstretching it, surely my stomach hasn't shrunk in a week or two?? I'm going to do a food diary tomorrow to see what my new calorie intake is (when I follow the flipping thing properly!). After a very healthy start I did find myself eating a higher % of food which is synned heavily on SW ( fresh pasta, pizza, tortelini, pesto, oils, white bread & butter) which I guess was me finally going ~"woo hoo"~ at being set "free". Even though I was eating the "naughties" I didn't binge on them though. I'm hopeful that if by sticking to it my food choices will even out, so that there is a good balance, which is really what we're all trying to achieve. Having weighed myself I have put on about 6 lbs since 4 weeks agobut how much of that is eating less but less good food choices with paul (hopefully none!) and how much of that was overeating on SW, only time will tell I guess.
Ive decided to reintroduce exercise as its all been a bit sparse lately, with the op on my broken cankle being a good excuse. Ive figured out that since I enjoy walking in the woods I will do some more of that, so will potter on up there later on. Walked for bleedin' miles where I was volunteerin yesterday, I wasn't too happy a bunny really, since they knew I had volunteered to do X job because I couldnt' walk very far. I could do x job without a problem, but that doesnt help much when they park you in a car park a mile away from where your job actually is - and not a mile of concrete smooth walking, but hillocky grass which is hard to troop over at the best of times! Still, I'm telling myself its all good physio.
Final paragraph of my enormous monalogue (virtual therefore syn free cookies for anyone who is still reading by this stage!) is to ponder on the emotional side of overeating. Since doing paul and seriously paying attention to whether I am hungry or not, I have noticed that so very often the feeling I have in my stomach which I often - always! - mistake for hunger is emotional. It got really intense but has waned, so hopefully I am "detoxing" my emotional reasons for eating and re-training my brain that emotional "hunger" isn't to be dealt with by food. I think that's the real crux of my overeating, and something that interestingly I don't think SW, WW, RC or any of the popular schools of weight loss really deal with, but how many of us acknowledge that our weight problem stemmed from emotional eating - be it because we are happy, sad, stressed, or a.n.other emotion?
I'm not all together sure paul deals with it completely either, but he has drawn my attention to it. I'm going to try EFT to see if tht helps, but other possible suggestions of ways to deal with this side of a weight problem would be greatly appreciated.Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
Well done Mags and Mrs M and everyone else who have lost this week, I am sooooo envious of you all, I have just done a midweek weighin, and still the same grrrrrrrrrr
Red today:
B: Banana
L: HM Veg soup (carrots, turnips, cabbage, onion & butternut squash only), brown small chicken sandwich HEB
T: Roast chicken, sprouts carrots and gravy
Supper: Alpen lights HEB
Strawbs and muller
1 HEA is milk in tea, don't think I will get my second today, although i did make a quiche last night RED Day Friendly so could have a slice and that is some HEA with the cheese.
I think I have the hang of red and green days now, but I can't drop the 3rd of the plate of superfree's at all, I still put them into every plan pretty much, but I guess that can't be a bad thing :-)
Dizzy, I hope your tooth is sorted soon, I have had some v.bad toothaches in the past, I can't believe they are letting you suffer for 2 days without doing anything, just as well you have them super pain killers to help. Just don't forget to have your dynorod soup to help with going the loo, have it luke warm too, I find hot or cold foods just makes toothaches so much worse, ((((hugs))))0 -

Dont do midweek weigh ins!! seriously!!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I can't help it Lynz I originally started the diet on a sunday, but changed my weigh ins to a wednesday, so I weigh myself on a wed and input that weight into SW online and on here, but I always sneak a weigh in on a sunday cos I know its a full week, IYKWIM Wierd thing is my weight never changes from that sunday weigh in to the wed, so I don't know why I don't just go back to the original sunday weigh in lol
Maybe I should take my scales to my Mums house to get rid of them, and just use the Wii to weigh in cos I can never be bothered setting it all up to just weigh myself for 1 minute, so that would stop me doing it twice a week!!0 -
Well done MrsM & Mags, you really are an inspiration to us all :T:A
I on the other hand is a poorly bunny, have not been up long as felt too ill to get my a**s off the bed. So as yet haven't eaten or WI either
just can't be a&&ed. Am feeling yuk & bloated so had a dose of movicol to see if it helps [not been for 2 days, so not like me] even a fibre plus yesterday hasn't helped which it normally does, on the flip side my clothes are hanging off me today
. Had headache for 2 days too, got sore throat & dreaded cough back, so glad I'm still off work next week.
Anyway food today will [hopefully] be:
B - coffee
L - ham salad [spinach, toms, celery, cue, s/onion, roasted beetroot], new pots, cheese [a], cold beans[ pork pie, garlic bread, cheesy coleslaw, potato salad & hm garlic mayo will be available too
]
T - fruit & onken, may have meringue depends what I eat at lunch
Need HEb, could count the olive oil in the mayo as only have couple teaspoons if I have any.
Hope all us poorlies feel better soon & good luck all x xIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

After my holiday last week and eating everything in sight (+3lbs
at wi on thursday!) I'm really struggling to get back into it. Lack of motivation combined with lack of money is seriously b*ggering it up at the moment!
Managed to get a few superfree bargains at the local shop this morning so that has helped a lot:j! I bought a massive box of mushrooms for 50p so I'm going to attempt mushroom soup for the first time for a good hit of superfree! I've checked the recipe thread but couldn't find one! If I sauteed some onion and garlic (in frylight of course!) add chopped mushrooms, veg stock and dried thyme (no fresh herbs at moment!) then just simmered and blended it would that be ok? What could I add to make it more creamy but still sw friendly?
Thanks in advance,
