Hello.
I just joined slimming world and have lost 4lb. I guess it's too late to join the Easter challenge??0 -
Well I've had a mixed day. I lost 1.5lbs and got to target which I am so happy about!!!
On the flip side my Gran got sectioned today and is in hospital as she can't (won't) look after herself and OH's Grandad has a brain tumour so will be having brain surgery. I'm being very selfish but I'm upset that no-one feels like they can be happy at my achievement.
Welcome to the TARGET SOFA Lil :j:T:j, everyone here is very happy with your achievement and when all your family crisis's have settled down I'm sure those close to you will celebrate your achievement too. I bet they've all noticed how hard you've worked to get to target but what with all thats happened/happening at the moment its not surprising their minds are elsewhere.
I don't think you should worry about feeling selfish either, we all 'need' to feel important especially when we have accomplished something we set out to do and its a major improvement to health & wellbeing. So hang in there Lil and soak up all our praise for the time being and I hope we send a little bit of sunshine your way to cheer you up :A x x x x x xIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Evening all,
SUZIEBEAR - Recipe for Mexican Bake:
7 oz/198g potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-sized cubes
1 tomato, roughly chopped
1 small red onion, roughly chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 small red pepper, deseeded and finely chopped
7 fl oz/198 ml passata
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp dried oregano
A handful of fresh coriander, chopped, keeping some to garnish (I just used dried and put in two teaspoons)
Salt and freshly ground pepper
1.1/2 oz/42g reduced-fat cheddar cheese, grated
Set oven to 180 degrees C/350 degrees F/Gas 4.
Boil the potatoes for 5 - 6 minutes then drain and set aside.
Meanwhile put the tomato, onion, garlic, pepper and passata in a pan with the cumin, oregano and most of the coriander.
Bring to the boil, season to taste and then reduce the heat to low and cook for 5 - 6 minutes.
Remove from the heat, stir in the potatoes and transfer to an ovenproof dish.
Sprinkle over the cheese and cook in the oven for 15 - 20 minutes or until golden and bubbling.
Garnish with the rest of the coriander and finish with a twist of black pepper.
Syns per serving Green and EE FREE (add 5.1/2 syns if not using the reduced fat cheese as a healthy extra
Because I have no hob at the moment (kitchen is work in progress!) I did all the hob stuff in the microwave but it came out great. ENJOY!0 -
SUZIEBEAR: Sorry I forgot to say that these quantities are for one serving. All I did was double everything up and there was loads. Would easily feed three or maybe four as part of a meal or between two for a lovely supper. x0

WELSHWOOFER
Thanks so much. I do feel a bit better now (couldn't feel much worse than I did). It really helps to be amongst like-minded people. I will keep smiling!! x
Thanks very much also to everyone for their lovely comments. x

I think I have a mental block with EE cos I've always done red and green and just can't get the fact that you can eat everything all on one day. I know it's stupid and I have decided that if (NO WHEN) I get back within target range I am going to try it. x
ANNA - How about apple betty for pud? (recipe on Slimming World website (if you can't get on give a shout and I will put it on here for you). It's lovely, very easy to do and only 2 syns for a portion. x
Lil-Me - Really fantastic news - you should be very happy and I understand you being upset that no-one feels they can be happy for you. WE are all happy for you and the family will be happy as well when the problems have been resolved and there is less stress about. Be comfy on the sofa but leave a bit of room for me!!!!! xx0 -

If I may say soI think you might want to try it now! Its less potential for HEB and more superfree. I think the high levels of superfree will definately increase your losses.
BEt you:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
blackberry-rum wrote: »Ha I forgot I am not the only kitchenless one. Managed fine so far (I mostly use the microwave to cook stuff anyway so no difference) until today when the floor has been tiled, and he had to lay a thick layer of adhesive in parts to level the floor so I cannot go in there for TWO DAYS. I thought it was just overnight tonight! Ate out at the local pub (hmm tasty but synful, my choice!) and then popped to Spar for a big bunch of bananas (£1), a huge bottle of sparkling water and a muller light to see me thru tonight and breakfast! It's like camping. Meanwhile the cat has plodded through the unset adhesive and it has now set on his paw and he is NOT KEEN on the soak in warm water recommended by kitchen man "it should soon come off". Ha ha.
Hi, glad you're managing - better than the cat anyway!!!!! Poor thing, he's probably traumatised. We haven't got to the tiling of the floor yet, the walls look nice though. I have use of the cooker and a microwave but not the hob. On the plus side it's looking lovely and will be worth waiting for. Hope you're pleased with yours. x0 -

BEt you
You definitely may say so and O.K. you win. I will do this week on red and green and whatever the results are on my Wednesday weigh in I WILL try a EE week the following week, (promise) x0 -
Hun just try one day
You dont have to do the whole week. I usually was doing EE, but then to save money i thought about doing greens.
Now we know our dizzy & mrs M is doing plenty of reds to shake it up a bit? I think the body needs a challenge now and then jsut so it doenst know what its getting:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? evening all. Well done to the losers and STS (anything that isn't a gain is good in my eyes!), and hugs to those who need them.
Today morphed into a red day in the end because I needed two HEBs for a sandwich. SO this evening I had fish and just a pile of veg.
I do feel quite bloated, although there's no reason why that should be.
I'm still struggling a bit with the evenings and trying to avoid the temptation to nibble. Am even thinking of resorting to doing the ironing!!!
I'm really enjoying reading everyone's posts for inspiration and support.
gien, I'm not sure whether you needed a sandwich for convenience or just because you fancied one. I've started buying the WW bread and I find having 3 slices a day fantastic. I generally have one with my breakfast (with eggs or beans etc) then that leaves two for a sandwich later. I find it a good idea to lightly toast it first. It makes it more chewy and substantial as it's a bit 'airy fairy' otherwise.0
