I do both i.e sauces on main meals, meringues on fruit etc also have snacks like crisps, chocolate etc. Its entirely up to you what you do with them but DO use them. I've always had up to 15 a day before reaching target but don't always need them now.
    Although saying that..........

FORGIVE ME FELLOW SW'ERS FOR I HAVE SYNNED [big time] its pre * week and I have had the chocolate cravings from hell along with some other odd cravings. Had pickled onion mash for tea :o. Think I may be half way to my weekly syns and its only Tuesday . Does anyone else have odd cravings pre * week or is it just me?:rotfl:

    Food today:
    B - weetabix milk [a] coffee
    L - potato bake [2xa] bbq sauce [2]
T - pickled onion mash, cous cous frittas, spaggy hoops, bbq sauce [1]
Snacks - pineapple, melon, activia, crisps [5] thennnnnnnnn half a sharing bag of Munchies  [syns?]
    Syns - too many :o
Not enough HEbs oh dear, why can't chocolate be HEb then I'd be fine :rotfl:

My saving grace is there were plenty of super frees in the potato bake and the cous cous frittas as well as the fruit :T
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

my syns are always of the choccie kind :D washed down with a white chocolate options nomnomnom.

I do sometimes (not often mind) use the odd 1syn here and there for a bit of ketchup on a HM burger, or VERY occasionally a naughty vodka (but that really is once in a blue moon when we have a BBQ maybe)

    OOOOOOOOH speaking of mash!!!!!

    I forgot to tell!!!

I made some mash for tea, did it with a couple of spoons of ff fromage frais then sprinkled a teaspoon of schwartz perfect shake 'garlic & herb MASH' into it.
It was scrummy, I saved a bit an spread it on a frylighted tray baked it in the oven then turned it.....baked a bit more til all dry & crispy, then topped it like you would a pizza

    - result??......really rather flipping nice :p a whole lot better than smash pizza which I think was gross when I tried it:o

Thank you for the info on syns in Extra Light Mayo. If I may join you then my day looks like this:-(Green)
    B. 28g oats 10g sultanas (1.5) 1 ryvita (B) 350ml sk milk (A) (for all day)
    L. Egg mayo sandwich (B) and 1.5 syns
    D. Herb omelette cooked in Fry Light, steamed cabbage followed by Rhubarb and Apple jelly with fromage frais and a bit of Canderel.
    Snacks of grapefruit, banana, orange.
    So if I've calculated correctly then I've had 1A, 2B's and 5.5syns.
Do others think this looks OK?
I'm following Green days and doing quite a basic plan as I don't (yet) have a Syn values book. I'm not going to a class but used to years ago, in fact I was a consultant for a while but I've forgotten most of what I learned.
    Take care everyone
