MORNING ALL - Dizzy - just love your pic alongside your undoubted devotion to dynorod soup, does that make me sound weird? I also love the idea of the open top trailer.

On the shoe subject - last year Boots had some great reductions on Fitflops (the exercise sandal things), the reductions were also on childrens ones so the size 3 worked out at over £20 cheaper than the adults. I think it's something to do with V.A.T. on childrens stuff which makes them cheaper.

WI tonight and I think I've probably STS (for the FOURTH week running!) will let you know. Sorry I seem to be rubbish at the 10 week challenge. How's everyone else doing?

Have a good day all. xx

I am treating this week as my first week at SW:j so hoping for a really good loss. I am going to keep a food diary too so noting down everything should stop me munching....

I do have a couple of lunchtime visists to wetherspoons this week - can anyone recommend what is best to have? I used to go for the jackets but I've heard that if you are following SW, these are not the best choice.....

I think it has now been agreed that Wetherspoons jackets are OK on SW, just ask for no butter. They are not injected with butter as was once thought to be the case so I would just go with the jacket with beans.

Hello everyone, I've not been here for about a month, and the thread moves way too fast for me to keep up with, but I've had a quick read of the last few pages to try to catch up.

I've stayed with SW, but my weight keeps fluctuating by 2lb. That's not due to the diet, it's due to me, and not really sticking fully with it, and having to eat while out & about an awful lot. I'm still struggling to work that one out, as it can often be at fairly short notice, and I prefer to be able to plan for these things. Anyway, excuses out the way, I've resolved to stick with it better, and to not over indulge. Any treats have to be counted in the plan. Too many have been slipping in there, without batting an eyelid.

I will try to pop in here more often, and I've got a new iphone, and one of the 1st apps I got was the Slimming World one, although it is lacking a few features I'd really like, such as food diary, and syn finder.... maybe they will be added later.

So, food diary today: Extra Easy

B - 2 slices wholemeal bread [heb], spread (2 syns) marmalade (2 syns)
L - Mixed salad, BFTY chicken slices (1/2 syn), mugshot, salad cream (1 syn)
D - BGTY sausages, potatoes, mixed veggies, gravy (2 syns)
    Milk in teas [hea]

I'm baking today, and tomorrow too, so it's crucial that I plan ahead what the evening meals will be, otherwise it ends up being too last minute, and too calorific.

I'm off up to my BFF/goddaughters on Friday for the w/end. Food can often be very poor at her's, so I am aiming to go armed with healthy foods, and she has a load of gym equipment (as yet unused by her), so I'm going to do an hour on Friday and an hour on Sunday on those, so that I won't miss out on my gym sessions.

As I've worked out, and said before, it's all in the planning!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
  • Hi everyone

Can anyone tell me how many syns are in homemade irish soda bread, it has mix of wholemeal and plain flour, porridge oats, milk with lemonjuice to sour it.

I would like to make this and have it for my breakfast

    Thanks

    R

Could someone please tell me what the syns are in Irn Bru? The place i'm going has the worlds most disgusting diet coke so I will be drinking double vodka and irn bru instead. Going to limit myself to 5 I think, so just wanna tot up how many syns that will be for the night.

Just looked on SW Online and its 7 syns for a can of normal irn bru, and 0 for diet. Don't they do any diet drinks in cans where you are going? seems a waste of syns to me think of all that extra vodka you could have for 7 syns a can :D

Well I had WI this morning, and I either STS or gained 1/2 lb, I don't know. I got on the scales and it said the same, which I didn't believe so I got on them again and it was about 1/2lb more, then repeated this over and over and it kept fluctuating between the lb. So, I think I will go with STS haha it looks better when I update my weight on SW online later :-) plus that was before I had been the toilet so that would help surely lol

Congrats Dizzy on finally going the toilet, nothing worse than being bunged up especially due to painkillers, bet you lost a few pound after getting rid of 6 days of poo lol :D:D

    Thanks susiebear :D

They only do mixers on tap :-( and no others are 'diet' drinks unfortunately. That's what you get when you go to the cheapest nightclub in town though I suppose!

The glasses are only 250ml-ish glasses, so if 50ml is vodka and say 150ml is irn bru (leaving 50ml of space at the top of the cup).

A can is typically 330ml, so for each drink it is around 3.5 syns for the irn bru plus 5 for the vodka which is 8.5 syns each.

I will be having five I think, which will be 42.5 syns. So for my flexi day I think I will stick to 50 syns as my limit to be safe. So hopefully, having 5 days this week of only 5 syns, I can even my syn count out for the week :j
