Ladies (and gents) I have come to a decision. Me and slimming world are not getting on with each other at the moment. I know the plan works, i've been to target in the past, but as many of you who have seen my posts over the last month or two will know, I have been struggling recently. Someone (lil_me?) suggested I try paul mckenna as my main problem is eating unconsciously and eating LOADS when I do this. I have got away with this for a while because I often binge on vegetable soups, but realistically for a while I've felt SW is not helping me for where I'm at at the moment, because it encourages (or allows you to cheat!) eating unlimited amounts. That was fine when I used to be more in tune with my body, but I feel I've lost touch with my appetite, and need to focus on that at the moment. I read Paul McKenna and I realised it makes a lot of sense as a long term plan for me, so I'm going to give him a go for the next month or so.
This is ABSOLUTELY NOT a slur on Slimming World. I KNOW it works, and I am in total awe at MrsMcawber, Dizzy, Blackberry_Rum, and all the rest of you who are doing so, so well on it. I just feel I've got to be honest and pay attention to the reasons why its not working for me at the moment. I'm not ruling SW out of my life forever, as its still the only plan I have ever really lost much weight on, but I do feel that I have burried my intuition when it comes to eating, which is odd considering I am a very intuitive person (some may say spookily so) in other aspects of life. I can feel this manifesting as a lack of harmony, and want to put it right.
Would anyone be annoyed if I stuck around? I'm going to get all mushy now, but I love you guys and we are such an interesting and supportive bunch. I don't feel it'll be particularly helpful to post my food diaries while I'm not on SW, but staying a part of this community seems important to me. Only if that's ok with you though...?
Hey Skint, you sloppy date, there's absolutely NO-ONE on here who would be annoyed if you stuck around. There's loads of us who would mind if you didn't though !!!!!!!!
Have fun with Paul (if you know what I mean!)
Lots of hugs, xx0 -
Gooooooood Morning all
well done on the losses :T and hugs to those struggling right now.
Hello to the newbies
2.5lb off for me this week which Im rather :j about as I cut my exercise down -I did the shred twice and had my walk yesterday -that was it!!.... so all in all me thinks I will be sticking with my carb curfew as I feel great this way :j
So I hit my easter target *well I bettered it by 1/2lb* - what date is easter anyway ????, also I now need 1/2lb off to get my next target (to be 14st 7lb).
My plan this week is to up the exercise again to see how I go -so I plan on doing something every day -mainly my "shred" but I may also give zumba wii another whirl :rotfl:
Righty ho then -today is another red day and should look like this:-
250ml semi (A)
banana
strawberries
minted lamb steak casserole-with onions n carrots
227g steamed potato (B)
cauliflower
cabbage
fibre plus (B)
strawberries
pineapple
frittata (0.5xA)
lettuce
cucumber
tomatoes
onions
peppers
tickled cabbage
tickled beetroot
activia (2.5)
125ml semi (0.5xA)
1tsp camp (0.5)
Now thats 2A+Bs and 3 syns -so I might buy some more milk if I need it...
Skintslimmer -you do right to do what you need to do for your own well being !! I had the Paul mckenna CD and book yonks ago and I loved it.... I still find that I apply his basics to SW and that may well be why this time it has finally "clicked" for me. Hope you find out what it is you need to do to be happy and healthy
Right -I will get off again... have a lovely day everyone :T

Morning all,
Had a flexi eve last night for friends 30th and felt it went pretty well, had vegan burittos - 1 with 5 bean fat free veg chilli and one with fat free refried beans - asked them not to add sour cream or guacamole/cheese and had rice and salad and some salsa.
Avoided the temptation of pudding - they were huge so could not risk it.
2 small low alcohol beers.
Back on track today and back to weigh in this week:)Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

Anyhow I tried on the bikini, the top is an 8 and the bottoms are a 10 and its fits perfectly if anything the bottms are a bit big. Anyway I have decided IM at target ( again!) Woooo One of my fave sumer dresses is now too big so another thing for the ebay pile!
However, I will be having 1 added x healthy extras per day. If I dont manage it on some days then i wont beat myself up.
Anyway: today is a green day
It is:
HEA milk
Breakfast banana/ berries & yog
L Boiled egg toasty soldiers HEB toast
HEB pagens & possibly a weetabix barRatatoille tart and salad etc ( didnt have this yesterday as I fell asleep and never made it!)
If I need a HEA ill make an extra milky coffee.
Anyway hope everyone has a great day x:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Morning all - well, it all went to pot yesterday.
OH had a bad day with depression and anxiety and as a way of coping (wrong I know) I ended up with 2 big glasses of wine and half a portion of egg fried rice, chips and curry sauce from the chinese. Feel fat and bloated and annoyed with myself today so IT WILL STOP!!!!
Even had the fruit etc ready for tea and ignored it!
So today I have already taken the dog to the park and have Nell McAndrew in the DVD player ready to torture me. Feel better after exercise so hopefully this will banish the flab and make me feel better. I will not dwell on it!
Can't wait for the Shred DVD to arrive - maybe tomorrow?
So food for today will be...
Breakfast - banana
Lunch - lots of fruit (raspberries, grapes, kiwi) fromage frais and a Hifi bar (B choice) and cheese (A choice)
Tea - quorn crispy fillet (3 syns), lots of salad and new potatoes
I am trying to repair the damage of yesterday so will need to be strict! Fingers crossed. xx0 -

Not to mention the deep fried, battered mushrooms with garlic mayo and maybe a soupcon of double fried chips - Oh and maybe 4 or 5 battered onion rings - home made I will have you know!
*note to self* Avoid favourite restaurants for the foreseeable future
Back on track as of yesterday but it would seem that Fridays little indulgence (oh yeah - I forgot the scone with jam and cream on Friday afternoon) has bitten me on the bum
Roast lamb and veggies for lunch todayMags - who loves shopping0 -
So, the weekend was my downfall. The diet was fine, but I went over my syns with alcohol. I have hardly used my syns all week, didn't need them, but boy did I make up for it Friday and Saturday night.
Friday food - EE day. I stuck to superfree's for breakfast and lunch knowing I may overindulge in the evening - had friends round for the evening and a table full of nibbles, but I made some SW friendly foods (tortilla, home made tzatziki, cous cous, salad) and stuck to them and avoided the crisps, cheese board and meat selection (mostly salami, chorizo, parma ham which I figured wouldn't be free!) and then had lots and lots and lots of wine.
Saturday - EE woke up with hangover, but stuck to banana and yoghurt for breakfast, cous cous and chicken with HEB philidelphia for lunch (I ate early as was meeting friends - they ate whilst we were out but I was already full), fruit as snack and pasta with veg for dinner. But then more alcohol in evening 4 rum and diet cokes so 16 syns.
Sunday - Weigh in day - lost 0.5lb. I am disappointed because other than friday night I have stuck religously to diet (although a couple of meals needed a bit more superfree food i think) and not gone over syns BUT.....Since I weighed myself to join SW have had a plaster cast put on my leg and I think that must weigh something - even if it was just a pound........
I won't give up!
Hope you are all enjoying the sun!Mort at highest - June 2008 - £171,000 - Daily Int 5.9% = £27.64:eek:Offset Mort - Nov 2010 £150,299- Daily Int 3.75% = Nov £15.44Mortgage Jan 2012 - £136,000 - Daily Int 3.75% - £3.100
