There are regular helpers in our group (bless 'em). If one or more can't make it they ask for volunteers and now I'm at target (thus not contributing to the consultant's finances!) I do offer, though it's a terrible rush for me to get home from work, change into lightlightlight clothes and zap down to the meeting! I hate doing the shop though, I'm always afraid I will tot things up wrongly.

    Reasons for doing slimming world:
Can now sleep on my front again
Can get knees bent enough to paint my toenails without too many smudges
I don't have to take Rennies every night
    Compliments compliments compliments
Knees don't ache when walking or climbing stairs
Generally far fewer aches and pains

I started at 12 st 7 lb so imagine how much worse it would have been for me had I continued to expand instead of discovering SW
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Talking about different ways of doing thing - what do your groups do about the shop. Our consultant has asked for help doing the shop cos she was down with her money every week. How can people stoop so low as to take stuff and not put the money in?

Funnily enough I was asked to do the shop yesterday when normally it's left to 'police' itself. I wonder if it's a national thing?

when I do bolognese I always finely dice or grate carrots into it, aswell as celery & onion. It helps with the flavour & does bulk the volume of the dish out a heck of a lot too ;)

Fortunately I don't need to be doing wth finely dicing or grating but I do throw loads of veg into my bolognese and chilli sauces. Great thing is that onions, carrots etc are still fairly cheap.
This is good news. I wonder how many other 'unexpected' bonuses we can think of that have come about due to the healthy eating.

    I'm just loving feeling thin!!!!

Morning. Busy day planned here so I'll put some fruit in my bag to see me through.

I thought of another reason to keep going, which is that I don't want to look like a saggy middle aged woman who's had three children and boy does it show.
I am middle aged and I have had three children but I know that that's no reason why I can't look trimmer and more toned, if I make the effort stick to the course!
    Trying to keep in budget.

charleybabes, chickpeas are not free food on a red day, so if you're fancying it today why not go extra easy?

Ladies (and gents) I have come to a decision. Me and slimming world are not getting on with each other at the moment. I know the plan works, i've been to target in the past, but as many of you who have seen my posts over the last month or two will know, I have been struggling recently. Someone (lil_me?) suggested I try paul mckenna as my main problem is eating unconsciously and eating LOADS when I do this. I have got away with this for a while because I often binge on vegetable soups, but realistically for a while I've felt SW is not helping me for where I'm at at the moment, because it encourages (or allows you to cheat!) eating unlimited amounts. That was fine when I used to be more in tune with my body, but I feel I've lost touch with my appetite, and need to focus on that at the moment. I read Paul McKenna and I realised it makes a lot of sense as a long term plan for me, so I'm going to give him a go for the next month or so.

This is ABSOLUTELY NOT a slur on Slimming World. I KNOW it works, and I am in total awe at MrsMcawber, Dizzy, Blackberry_Rum, and all the rest of you who are doing so, so well on it. I just feel I've got to be honest and pay attention to the reasons why its not working for me at the moment. I'm not ruling SW out of my life forever, as its still the only plan I have ever really lost much weight on, but I do feel that I have burried my intuition when it comes to eating, which is odd considering I am a very intuitive person (some may say spookily so) in other aspects of life. I can feel this manifesting as a lack of harmony, and want to put it right.

Would anyone be annoyed if I stuck around? I'm going to get all mushy now, but I love you guys and we are such an interesting and supportive bunch. I don't feel it'll be particularly helpful to post my food diaries while I'm not on SW, but staying a part of this community seems important to me. Only if that's ok with you though...?

Skint...... you absolutely have to have 'your head in the right place' for any eating plan to work hun (as you already know ;)) AND you have to do whats right for you.

If you feel taking a little break while you get yourself sorted out will help you then I'm fully behind you with this and I certainly dont mind you sticking around
.........Just dont tell me what naughties you're eating else I'l be forced to bring the tank and hunt you down :rotfl::rotfl:x x

Skint of course you can stick around!! It wasn't me who mentioned Paul McKenna, I've heard about him but not seen his stuff. I'm lucky that in general it isn't my portion control that's a problem it's the stuff I used to eat.

I agree with Dizzy here Skint, you most def have to have your head in the right place so take all the time you need. Please do stick around, even though we don't know each other personally we've all become friends as we're all in the same boat [or tank now :rotfl:].
I personally feel I can tell everyone anything like I would a close friend and I know I will get all the support I need especially when my 'real' friends don't know how to.
So Skint please please stay around, you may not 'think' you're doing sw but just being here will probably keep you eating healthy.
Hope Paul can help you :A x x
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
