Hello everyone, I am about to make a pot of soup and wondered if I could put a tin of Asda chickpea dahl in it. It's got yellow pepper, carrot, onion, baked beans and mixed beans that are in a tomato sauce in it already. Do you think this would go with it? Thanks:)

Minimad - yes, go for it. I shove all sorts of things in, and its free too.

Skintslimmer - you have done your bit over the months encouraging loads of us with your journey, take a detour, but do hang around here, and let us know how you are, and we'll encourage you in return.

Enjoy the sun everyone, it's one of my reasons for sticking at healthy eating - not dissolving into a sweaty puddle as soon as the sun comes out!

    Hi Everyone,
I'm thinking of starting a SW plan again. Would you mind if I joined you?
I actually used to be a consultant myself for a short time but it didn't suit me so I passed it on for someone more capable. This was a fair few years ago though. I would like to start Food Optimising again but unfortunately cannot spare the time or cash to go to a class or join on-line. I keep reading you guys are doing Extra Easy days and have managed to find out they consist of all H/E's and the superfree foods which I've been unable to find lists for. I understand they are the foods that are free on both plans but I don't have time/patience to work out which ones they are-could anyone post a list on here please? I would be very grateful!
So I'm spending this weekend working out a sensible plan and will be starting Monday-wish me luck and I hope you won't mind me joining in the forum to post weights etc.

PJ there are far too many to list! Your cheapest option is to sign up to a class for 1 week to get the up to date books. Someone on here will generally be on hand to look up syn values once they cut your online membership (you get about 3 weeks I think).

    Afternoon all!
Just back from a walk in a National Trust place with OH and the dog - its a lovely day.
Unfortunately this meant lunch out too....

The only thing I could eat (not meat) on the menu that wasn't yet another jacket potato was a tuna melt with wedges
    So eat it I did!

Not sure how many syns that will be but I'll count the tuna as 1 HEB, the bread as another and the cheese as a HEA. I know this won't take care of it all but it may reduce the syns?

Its free food for the rest of the day for me - I am actually quite full, its surprising how quickly your appetite shrinks.

So for the rest of the day its...
    grapes,
    raspberries,
    fromage frais (FF)
    banana if needed

On the positive side I have walked for about 90 mins today (not at a blistering pace but better than nothing!) and will walk the dog again later.
I weighed this morning (my usual sneaky mid week home WI) and the scales say I've lost 1 lb but I've probably put that back on again now! Will do some more "proper" exercise tomorrow to try to put things right........

I'm having a good day. Planning to have a wardrobe sort out later and get rid of all my old trousers that are now too big to wear:T:D Some are fit only for the bin, others can go to the charity shop. It was when size 16 started to get a bit tight that I decided to join SW. I'm now comfortably in a 14 and even a few 12s. Oh bliss!!!:)

    EE again:
B:NAS squash, baked beans, HE toast and HE milk in teas
L:ham & salad sandwich, bowl of berries with FF yogurt
D:SW chicken curry, rice & chips
Snacks: I'll have a bit of fruit to up the SFs although there is some veg in the curry. Definitely Shiraz syns later.

    Evening all

    Green day for me:

B - 2 x eggs fried in frylight on HM WM bread (HEB), LF marg (0.5syns)
L - jacket spud, salad, coleslaw (5syns), cheese (0.5 HEA)
D - potato salad (2syns for mayo), salady bits, cheese (1.5 HEA), HB eggs, pickled onions, falafals (3syns), tzatsiki made from FF yog, SF hummous
Snacks - grapes, jelly (0.5syns), LF creme fraiche (1.5syns)
Drinks - water, diet coke, fizzy water, squash

    Total syns = 12.5

Still have a HEB left so will either have more yummy cheese with dinner or a fibre plus bar later.

charleybabes, chickpeas are not free food on a red day, so if you're fancying it today why not go extra easy?

Ladies (and gents) I have come to a decision. Me and slimming world are not getting on with each other at the moment. I know the plan works, i've been to target in the past, but as many of you who have seen my posts over the last month or two will know, I have been struggling recently. Someone (lil_me?) suggested I try paul mckenna as my main problem is eating unconsciously and eating LOADS when I do this. I have got away with this for a while because I often binge on vegetable soups, but realistically for a while I've felt SW is not helping me for where I'm at at the moment, because it encourages (or allows you to cheat!) eating unlimited amounts. That was fine when I used to be more in tune with my body, but I feel I've lost touch with my appetite, and need to focus on that at the moment. I read Paul McKenna and I realised it makes a lot of sense as a long term plan for me, so I'm going to give him a go for the next month or so.

This is ABSOLUTELY NOT a slur on Slimming World. I KNOW it works, and I am in total awe at MrsMcawber, Dizzy, Blackberry_Rum, and all the rest of you who are doing so, so well on it. I just feel I've got to be honest and pay attention to the reasons why its not working for me at the moment. I'm not ruling SW out of my life forever, as its still the only plan I have ever really lost much weight on, but I do feel that I have burried my intuition when it comes to eating, which is odd considering I am a very intuitive person (some may say spookily so) in other aspects of life. I can feel this manifesting as a lack of harmony, and want to put it right.

Would anyone be annoyed if I stuck around? I'm going to get all mushy now, but I love you guys and we are such an interesting and supportive bunch. I don't feel it'll be particularly helpful to post my food diaries while I'm not on SW, but staying a part of this community seems important to me. Only if that's ok with you though...?

oh definitely stay around Skint: I bet there are lots of people who read this thread and never write anything who may or may not be following the SW plan ... at least we know and love you! you do have to have your head in the right place to do it, I can vouch for that. I tried SW once before and was RUBBISH at it, whereas this time I have sailed thru and am now a convert (a slim convert!) And you have trained yourself into healthy eating whether you call it Slimming World or not. And do stop being sloppy :p
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

We'd be most miffed if you didn't stick around. You don't need to be doing SW to need healthy eating support and anyway.........we love you too :D :grouphug:
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
